The USB cable is probably one of the most under-appreciated product of the age. We use them every day to connect peripheral devices to our computers, to transfer data from one device to another, and to charge cell phones, mp3 players and more. You probably have half a dozen of them within easy reach of where you’re sitting tight now and just reach out and grab one as needed. It’s always exciting to see a new design that adds functionality to such an old friend. F-color has taken the concept of a simple USB cable and made it something new and special.
F-color has replaced the familiar rubber coated cable with a braided fabric cable with metal connectors at each end that accommodate both USB and Apple Certified MFI Lightning connections. This new cable is tangle free and can be rolled up like a lariat instead of a limp rubber noodle. The braided fabric covering keeps the cable from tangling even if you just toss the cable in your bag and go.
This flexible and durable cable has a standard Type A connector at one end and a Micro USB connector at the other end. An additional Lightning adapter is attached by a small cable and may be slipped onto the Micro USB connector to convert it for use with your Apple device.
The F-color 2-in-one cables are available in 3.3 foot and 6.6 foot lengths to meet a variety of different needs. Color options include Silver, Gold, or Grey. These colors are for the metal connectors at the ends of the cables. The braided cables are a grey and black tweed pattern which seems to be the same for all.
These cables offer reliable and fast data transfers for Apple devices including iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5S, 5C, 5, iPad Air, iPad 4th Generation, iPad Mini, iPad Mini with Retina Display, iPod Touch 5th Generation and iPod Nano 7th Generation. The USB 2.0 connection is further compatible with a wide range of devices including: hard drives, e-readers, handheld game consoles, camcorders, smartphones, Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Nexus, Nokia, LG from laptop, HP, Sony, Blackberry, Android devices and more.
I received the 6.6 foot 2-in-1 cable with the gold connectors for my review. In very short order, the I noticed that when I needed a charging cable, I would push other cables aside in order to get to the F-color cable for the task at hand. The braided fabric cable makes it easy to see in a box of tangled black and white rubber cables. The extra length of the cable is more convenient for use with a device that is connected to a charging station. It is my favorite cable for use with my Asus Transformer Book as well as for charging my smartphones and Kindle Readers. Anyone with both Apple and Micro USB compatible devices will enjoy always having the right cable handy when you need it.
Priced at $18.49 on Amazon, the F-color 2-in-one costs more than a standard rubber cable but once you’ve switched to F-color, you won’t want to go back to those old cables.
I received this product for my honest evaluation which I have provided above.
