UPDATE: Due to rainstorms that hit City Park yesterday and more wet weather set to hit the area today, the organizers cancelled the third day of Voodoo Music & Arts Experience.
After wowing crowds at Bonnaroo, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Governors Ball and Glastonbury, Florence + the Machine will finish the band’s string of impressive festival dates this weekend at the Voodoo Music & Arts Experience, Oct. 30-Nov. 1, at New Orleans’ City Park.
Ozzy Osbourne featuring Geezer Butler, Tom Morello and Slash is the appropriate headliner on Halloween while Zac Brown Band headlines on the fest’s final night.
The lineup also includes Jack U (Skrillex and Diplo), Jane’s Addiction, deadmau5, Modest Mouse, Giorgio Moroder, Chance the Rapper, Girl Talk, The Cult, Third Eye Blind, Fishbone, Clutch, The Joy Formidable, Ryan Bingham, Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls, Joey Basass and the Soul Rebels, Django Django, Babes in Toyland, Terence Blanchard featuring E-Collective, Dumpstaphunk, The Temperance Movement, Here Come the Mummies, Mike Dillon’s Punk Rock Percussion Consortium and Flow Tribe.
Earlier this year, Florence and the Machine showed that it’s not suffering from any sophomore slump when the group released “How Big How Blue How Beautiful.” Besides critical acclaim, the album shot up to number one on the album sales chart.
With Black Sabbath scheduled to tour throughout much of 2016, Osbourne’s set will be the last time for a long that a U.S. audience will be able to hear any of his solo material (and any other musical surprises this special grouping may provide).
For those who can’t make it to the Big Easy for Voodoo, you can watch select sets online at Yahoo, www.Yahoo.com/voodoo/. Streaming runs from 4 p.m.-12 a.m. EST each day.
