Ice cream lovers just got a satisfying new way to beat the Bangkok heat with the opening of a new Creamery branch. Located near Kasetsart University in a trendy new community mall called Home Village, this is the third Creamery store to open, and the owners have plans to open a fourth in just a few months.
Creamery focuses on what they call “boutique ice cream”, and nothing is run of the mill or average here. Everything from the cheeky product names to the one of a kind artisan ice cream flavors that are conceived by owners Ian Lee and Jerry Chompunuch who met each other in Switzerland while attending the prestigious Les Roches International School of Hotel Management. Love soon followed and a desire to put their passion for each other into a business that reflected their unique personality and their commitment to high quality standards, led them to develop the mini-ice cream empire they have today.
“Jerry is the creative force behind the ice cream flavors and recipes “shared Ian “I generally handle things on the business side”. They are always developing new and exciting ice cream flavors to keep their customers guessing while making sure their best sellers are always on hand. Look for unique offerings such as the Brit Pop which is bacon and egg flavored, or the White Wedding which is a tres leche and butter cake flavored blend. I particularly enjoyed the CA.LE.HO.YO, which is a clever combo of cardamon, lemon, honey and frozen yogurt. Another favorite of mine is the Black Pearl which is a winning amalgamation of dark rum and cookie dough, and the Counter Strike which is caramel, pistachio and chocolate fudge. Yummmmm!
One of the more popular items they have on the menu is their salaciously named “Hot F**king Cookie”. Ice cream and giant cookies heated in a skillet are combined to make a messy, gooey, tasty delight. Also look for their delectable “Fudge Bites” which are really more like a very dense brownie. They come in three flavors and the caramel and chocolate are to die for.
Another must try is their Ice Cream Sandwich Macaroons. A veritable sugar over load, they are another creative way to enjoy their signature ice creams. I tried the Matcha Green Tea Macaroons and the Blue Berry Cheesecake, and both were scrumptious. Whether you are a die-hard ice cream lover, or just someone who likes trying something new, be sure to stop by Creamery’s Home Village @ Kaset or any of their other locations.
