We all know that discipline is the one key ingredient that really makes your goals come to life. Ultimately, in the end, the real difference between those who fulfill their goals and ultimate potential and those who do not can be attributed to discipline.
One simple misstep can be the difference. One error can cost you your goals.
Your goals matter. How would you like to be somebody who fulfills them? How would you like to be someone who reaches them and gets to live your dreams? It will all boil down to discipline.
If you don’t adhere to the principles of discipline, it won’t be the end of the world- life will go on and you’ll adapt, but you will never achieve your true potential that might have been reached when it comes to being disciplined. Here are some universal examples of situations in which exercising discipline, as much as exercising your body, can set you on a path straight for your goals and success.
1. You resist the temptation to eat an irresistible fattening and unhealthy meal.
You see your favorite junk food staring at you. Whether in your refrigerator, at a party, or out and about. Everyone else is enjoying the delicious flavor. You can’t resist, but you do- you stay disciplined and choose a healthy meal instead.
2. You exercise when most people are being lazy and sitting around.
It looks comfortable. People relaxing, talking, staring at the tv or computer screen. You are tempted to do the same. After all, who needs to sweat and get all messy when you can just waste time indoors? Instead, you resist the temptation to do the same, and not only do you throw on your workout clothes, you give it your all and execute a great intense workout that can change your body.
3. You only invest your money in things that can take you to your goals.
The commercials and advertisements are enticing. There’s a big event or a big sale going on, and the way they make it sound, you can’t miss it. All the superlatives and catchy slogans make you yearn to go buy something or travel somewhere. Instead, you spend the money on a healthy lunch or dinner that is good for your health and also good for your body’s transformation to get to your goals.
4. You stay home and find something to entertain yourself with rather than go out partying with friends on the weekend.
Everybody likes to have fun, especially on the weekends, but you know that staying out late or all night isn’t the schedule you want to be on to be productive and succeed. If drinks are involved, those and late night snacks can ruin your diet and all the hard work you put in all week at the gym. Instead, you stay in, rent a movie or watch Netflix, and wake up bright and early the next day with all your motivation and energy still intact and ready to workout to keep further progressing toward your goals.
There are many other examples of where discipline will come in handy on your path to goal realization and success, but as you can see, exercising discipline is the most important form of exercise in order to reach your goals.
