EA Sports’ Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will be providing players with plenty of new options for how to play and the ways they can customize their own experiences. Part of that is Rory McIlroy PGA Tour’s new Tour Pro Mode, which will allow players to build their own character and compete against some of the PGA Tour’s best.
In a recent feature on EA Sports’ official Rory McIlroy PGA Tour site, the firm explained what players will find when they jump into Tour Pro Mode. As you start off, people will have three options for the type of Bio they wish to give their customized golfer. The three options are Prodigy, Collegiate and Instructor. This serves as a mechanism for the game to gain a certain amount of back story for your golfer.
Once people have selected the type of Bio they want for their golfer, it’s onto the start of their career with the Web.com Tour Championship. The tournament takes place at TPC Sawgrass and if you earn a high enough place in the tournament, you will “graduate” to the PGA Tour. Once here, you will “embark on a 15-year career,” so says EA Sports.
It can be quite the time consuming process to play a full four-round, 18-hole per round tournament. That is why Rory McIlroy PGA Tour has created a brand-new feature called Quick Rounds. This enables people to complete a tournament, the length of which we just described, in the time a single round of 18-holes would take. “Players can progress deeper in Career Mode in half the time, without compromising Skill Level or XP.”
As players progress through Tour Pro Mode, they will earn experience points and with those, people can gain access to new “gear equipment, attribute upgrades and attribute bonuses.” The ways in which you can acquire experience points is through completing holes, earning birdies or eagles, implementing a draw or fade into your shot, nailing greens and fairways in regulation and executing precise approaches to the green.
Rory McIlroy PGA Tour is bringing another feature called Attribute Bonuses, which will give people the chance to choose a bonus that complements their play style. The four types are “Brute Force” for power, “Ultraprecision” for precision, “Dialed In” for balance and “Swerve” for finesse. These are unlocked as your golfer progresses in Rory McIlroy PGA Tour.
Rory McIlroy PGA Tour’s Tour Pro Mode seems to be a feature many, many players will utilize in this year’s installment. This year’s game marks the first time the series will come to PS4 and Xbox One, and it’s the first time the franchise is current-gen only. Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will hit PS4 and Xbox One on July 14.
