If you are anything like me you are still holding on to any last hope that summer will just go on forever. It’s a nice hope, but sadly fall is approaching quickly. Despite the recent heat wave, the leaves are still beginning to change color and fall to the ground. Now is the time to get yourself prepared. This means to get the tools you need to make sure you are ready for the change in temperature and the subsequent change in fashion.
See my tips on how to get ready for fall in style.
Organize Your Closet
Towards the end of the summer, I always focus on rotating out my super colorful summer clothing and slowly (and begrudgingly) transition in my clothing for the cooler weather. I don’t have a big enough closet to hold everything, but I make a point to be super organized and strategically go through everything to make sure I have some cohesive looks in the closet.
Witness The Fitness
Right now as summer comes to a close you are as active as you will be during the year. It only gets harder once the snow comes! Keep health and fitness as a priority going into the fall with Taylor USA digital scales. The perfect combination of chic and functional — Taylor now has scales feature photo realistic finishes, which can be integrated into a variety of home décor styles. Some looks include – Black Ice, Capiz Shell, Gray Marble and Barn Wood. Available for $24.99.
Get A Fall Statment Piece
Well now that you’ve organized your closet you’ve probably noticed a few gaps that need filling. Treat yourself and get something fresh for fall! Don’t go super trendy, round out your closet with something a little more classic. Especially if you are going to spend some money — make sure it’s a statement piece that you will get some good use out of. My latest lust is the Ann Taylor dark green faux leather jacket. Available for $198.
Get Your Skin Ready
Once the weather cools down it will be an immediate key to make sure you keep moisturized. I always feel like there is that one week, when we know it’s officially fall because everyone’s skin dries out — let’s avoid that this year! One way to do it is with Sara Happ lip scrub to get rid of dead skin and to keep lips super moisturized. Do as I do, and just keep a little tub (in an awesome scent like lavender or creme brulee) in your shower — and use often!
Snack Right For A Busy Schedule
As I type this, I just finished eating a piece of leftover birthday cake. So please — do as I say, not as I do! Even for someone like me I have really enjoyed trying NuGo Bars and their amazing flavors. As my life gets busier, I don’t have to abandon the things I love — I can still have my favorite flavors on-the-go but do it more responsibly. What I love about NuGo is that not every bar is right for every person — there are a million different varieties — Slim, Protein, Fiber, Organic, Gluten-Free… and so on. I loved the Fiber options… because my biggest pitfall is not being able to fill up. This was a great alternative for a busy lifestyle but a need to be healthy. Available for approximately $20 for 15 bars.
Don’t Give Up Everything From Summer
You are now ready to go for fall — but hold on, we can still allow you to enjoy some of your favorites from summer. How about a chic summer scent like Whish Body Lotion in Black Cherry, Ginger Melon, Key Lime and Orange Cream. Now even in your fall self can savor a little bit of summer. This will come in handy big time once winter hits! Available at Nordstrom for $12.
