Folk pop/rock singer and songwriter Eric Hutchinson will perform at the Simon Estes Amphitheater in Des Moines on Wednesday, August 5 as part of the Nitefall on the River summer concert series. Gates for the show will open at 6 p.m., and the music will kick off at 7 p.m. with a performance by soul singer Tess Henley. Tickets for the event are $15 in advance and $17 on the day of the show. They may be purchased at the Wooly’s box office (504 Locust Street in Des Moines) or online through Ticketfly. The concert is open to all ages.
Washington D.C. native Eric Hutchinson saw his first major success when his third album, Sounds Like This, reached #5 at the iTunes Store and was picked up by Warner Bros. Records. The single “Rock and Roll” reached #1 in Australia and single was certified platinum “down under” and gold in New Zealand, Norway, and the U.S. Hutchinson has gone on to place albums in the Top 30 of the Billboard 200 and see his songs used on several television shows. He has also been named an “artist to watch” by AOL, Yahoo!, MSN, and VH1. His latest album, Pure Fiction, was released last year.
