The third annual EQUUS Film Festival NYC is the first event of its kind to offer a home to the story tellers of the horse world, with films, documentaries, videos, commercials and shorts from around the world and, for the first time in 2015, cultural elements of fine equestrian art and literature. EQUUS Film Festival is founded and organized by Lisa Diersen, who has spent her life in the company of horses. Her mission is to show the world how horses unite regardless of race, age, gender, ability or challenges.
In 2014 EFF hosted 119 films at MIST Theatre in Harlem and is expected this year to draw record nominations in double (28) the categories presenting Winnie Awards at Saturday night’s eq-equivalent of the Oscars. EQUUS Film Festival highlights and rewards the diverse and creative efforts of those who pay artistic homage to the horse. EFF NYC presents a platform to educate and enlighten the world to horse-related issues. The festival’s ultimate goal is to better the world for horses.
