Elder Scrolls Online has had quite the journey since it began development. There were years of time spent making the game before it released on PC and MAC last Fall, and now, here we are with the game getting set to make its debut on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
Fans who have been anxiously anticipating the launch of Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited are surely interested in when exactly they can get their hands on it. Some games launch a few hours prior to midnight on the day it launches, but Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will unlock at exactly that time.
“On June 9th, everyone who has purchased The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will be able to log in at midnight, local time. This means that every hour, players from a new time zone will gain the access to play ESOTU on console, beginning with UTC+14,” ZeniMax Online Studios Community Manager Jessica Folsom wrote on the PS Blog today.
One of the biggest changes people know is coming to Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is the fact that there won’t be any forced subscriptions in order to play the game. Bethesda revealed that change earlier this year and it was met with plenty of celebration from PC, MAC, PS4 and Xbox One players alike.
With the game’s launch now approaching, fans are getting a clearer picture of the types of new features that will be in Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. Quick Chat is something PS4 and Xbox One players have wanted, and Folsom talked about the game’s Quick Chat system that will be available at launch.
“This system will allow you to select from a collection of premade phrases to quickly communicate with other players around you. You set them to your shortcuts just like you would a consumable item. Once you’ve assigned the Quick Chat phrase to your shortcut wheel, you simply hold down Right on the D-Pad, then use the R-Stick to choose one,” Folsom wrote.
She went on to say that when players use the Quick Chat feature, there will be a text chat bubble that players around can see, in addition to an emote. The screenshot above depicts the menu of quick responses Elder Scrolls Online players will have.
Even though the Quick Chat bar you see above only shows eight responses, players will be able to interchange them and add plenty more to choose from. “There are currently 22 Quick Chat phrases you can choose from, all of which are localized into English, French, and German. We do plan to add more over time, based upon the requests of the ESOTU community,” Folsom wrote.
A few weeks from now, players will be journeying across the world of Tamriel on PS4 and Xbox One. Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will be available June 9.
