The Duggar family has always suggested they shared their lives on “19 Kids and Counting” to show how they live and offer a glimpse at their religion. Almost always they flatly denied it was for the fame or the cash. Since the show isn’t on TLC anymore, it could be that the Duggar family has a new agenda. According to InTouch Magazine on Friday, one of the family members seen on the show, Amy Duggar, is asking for engagement gifts.
The shock of begging for gifts had some fans going bonkers. The ridiculous idea that an engaged woman would put her address on Instagram to get people to send her stuff is not only offensive, but reveals an entirely different side of what the Duggar family is really about. Asking for cards, gifts and anything else, Amy has promised to write a handwritten letter for every person who sends something.
There is no doubt that Amy Duggar’s wedding won’t be on TLC. The network passed on filming the event after the scandal hit the Duggar family. It is well known that the network paid thousands of dollars for the weddings of the Duggar children when broadcast on television.
According to Christianity Daily on Friday, people are absolutely outraged that the family who made millions of dollars with a television show are asking for more and not giving back. The large fan backlash has many people taking notice of how many times the Duggar family or one of the cast members of the reality show has asked for money. The Duggar YouTube channel asks for donations, the Jessa Duggar is hitting the speaking circuit for cash, Jill Duggar solicited funds for a mission trip and then there is Amy Duggar who is asking for wedding gifts. It appears that this reality show family needs to figure out their lives after a TV show very soon as they aren’t making millions anymore.
