“Duck Dynasty” star Jep Robertson has come forward revealing he was sexually abused when he was only six years old according to a Monday, June 8 report from Radar Online. In the wake of the reality families aftermath of sexual molestation and abuse add to that list list of TLC reality series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” and “!9 Kids and Counting” families of the Shannons and Duggars yet another family.
Now, “Duck Dynasty” star Jep Robertson has come forward to reveal his own claims of sexual abuse. Jep now 37-years-old has revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he was sexually molested by an older student when he was a small child of six. “I was 6 and it was on a school bus and it was an older girl.” Jep Robertson described his nightmare. “Back then the high school students would ride on the same bus as the grade school. There was this girl there that was just real mean…I don’t know, but it was a lot of things took place — scary stuff. It was tough. She’d take my hands and push them up under her shirt and tell me I was tickling her,” he writes in his new book, The Good, The Bad, The Grace Of God. “Then she started making me pull down my pants.”
Jep Robertson claims he was so distraught over the sexual molesting that he began skipping classes. “My mom always thought I was sick,” he admitted. “…I think for a while I just tried to bury it so deep that I kind of forgot about it for a while.” Jep Robertson credits his wife Jessica for bringing to terms with the sexual abuse, revealing that after sharing the shocking details of his childhood, it strengthened their relationship.
“I know it sounds weird but it’s helped me now that I have a bunch of girls,” he continued. “I think it helps us really communicate with them on what’s right and what’s wrong — where you should be touched or not be touched. It’s a tough thing to go through.” Jep Robertson reveals he does not know the Duggar family, but wife Jessica said, “I think they’re staying close-knit and I think they’ll be fine, but it’ll be a long road.”
In Jep’s book he also reveals how he turned to drugs and alcohol as a teen revealing it began when he began hanging around with the wrong crowd. began after he fell in with the wrong crowd. Jep Robertson reveals it was a family intervention that brought him back around and probably saved his life. Jep’s reveals his father telling him, ‘You need to choose between us and the life you’re living,’ and I just fell down on my knees and said, ‘Thank you so much. What took you all so long?'”
