A man in Akron, Ohio, received a helping paw from his faithful dog over the weekend, reported ABC News 5. While walking along Goodyear Boulevard and Battery B Street on Saturday evening, a 34-year-old man claims to have been approached by another man who demanded that he hand over his pit bull.
The victimized man claims that after he refused, the assailant hit him in the head. The violent encounter prompted the dog to enter the fray – the victim told the authorities that his dog lunged at the would-be thief and tried to bite him.
The dog’s response was enough to make the assailant run away. The victim was also able to run back to his home with his protective dog in tow, and then contact the police to file a report.
According to the Akron Police, the man suspected of attacking the 34-year-old man is described as a 20-30 year-old black male who is between approximately six feet tall. The suspect is believed to weigh between 150 and 180 pounds.
