Only someone with no conscience could look upon their neglected dog day after day with his skin being painfully pulled by the severe matting of his coat, and then not to care that he has been missing from his home. The staff and volunteers have named this 15-year-old lost soul, Lil Stinker; hardly a worthy name for a dog who has somehow managed to survive all of his “dog years” without much love or care.

“Hi, the Shelter named me Lil Stinker. I am an approximately 15 year old brown and white neutered male. I am friendly, and I tested heart worm negative. I weigh approximately 14 pounds. I have been at Orange County Animal Services since Saturday, July 25, 2015. My due out date is Saturday, August 01, 2015. (It appears Lil Stinker was shaved down as compared to an earlier photo)”
Lil Stinker is currently being held in isolation, and that diminishes his chances of finding someone who can give him the care he deserves for however long he may still live. And doesn’t Lil Stinker deserve a kind retirement? Checking with the agents at the shelter, Lil Stinker was noted to be very underweight and is being held in isolation in order to help him relax and gain weight; he is being fed small meals regularly. He does show symptoms of an old spinal injury, and it is recommended that the dog be evaluated by a veterinarian.
The dog is eligible for adoption by an individual or family, however the shelter mandates each potential adopter come into the shelter and personally meet Lil Stinker. Please share this old boy’s story with family, friends, and social media. Sharing saves lives. A Facebook page for Lil Stinker can be found here.
