New food hall coming to Remington, R. House by Seawall Development in late 2016 on the corner of Remington Avenue and W. 29th Street. It is a 50,000 square foot space, not quite as large as Anthony Bourdain’s Bourdain Market on Chelsea Pier 57 of 155,000 square feet. An incubator for the culinary scene here in Baltimore R. House will be home to 10 of Baltimore’s top chef driven food and drink concepts.
Plans for R. House include 15-ft.-tall windows, roll-up garage doors, and 12,000 square feet of wide-open seating – sofas, high tops, low tops, communal tables, booths, patio seats, and bar stools – all under one roof. Ten perfectly sized plug-and-play kitchens that honor each chef, with an additional kitchen reserved for rotating pop-up concepts will surround the interior’s perimeter. Although oversubscribed, applications for flexible lease terms are still being accepted by Seawall but no chefs have been announced at this time.
