“Devious Maids” fans can gear up for a “shocking, deadly” season three finale, Examiner has learned exclusively in an Aug. 20 phone interview with series regular cast member Gilles Marini. Gilles was very gracious to take time out to discuss next Monday’s explosive final episode. While “Devious Maids” has been speeding quickly toward a season three close Gilles has been busy traveling for work and an important cause.
On Aug. 3, Gilles embarked on Kiehl’s LifeRide 6 for amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research). He drove with corporate leaders and fellow celebrities on a 2,100 mile, multi-stop West Coast motorcycle trek to support amfAR’s mission to find a cure for HIV/AIDS by 2020. This year marked his fourth LifeRide. He greeted fans at Kiehl’s stores in Colorado, Utah and Las Vegas before flying to New York to dance live for four days in Long Island with Louis Van Amstel’s “Ballroom with a Twist.”
The hunky and ever-humble actor is admittedly tired from his travels and is happy to be home with his wife Carole, son Georges and daughter, Juliana. They miss each other when he’s gone and it always feels great to all of them when they’re back together. While we were talking, Juliana popped into the room to give her daddy a belated Father’s Day gift.
Gilles asked me to wait a second while he opened her present, which turned out to be a handmade heart with a letter inside. They shared a sweet father-daughter moment which included a kiss and after she left he said, “She’s been covering me with gifts since yesterday. It’s like Christmas for me. I also just went to the gym with my son. He drove us. He’s driving so great right now! It’s awesome to be back.”
We steered the conversation back to “Devious Maids” in which a startling death and horrifying dismemberment has driven the entire season three storyline. Over the past few episodes Marisol (Ana Ortiz), Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez), Rosie (Dania Ramirez) and Zoila (Judy Reyes) have been trying to figure out if the killer is walking among them. They even suspect their friend Taylor (Brianna Brown), due to the strange events surrounding the arrival of her newly-adopted daughter Katy.
We can’t blame the maids for trying to answer the question that is driving all of us crazy: Who killed Blanca and Louie Becker? We can’t help but wonder if the maids’ curiosity will ultimately turn deadly. “Deadly” in fact, is one in a string of adjectives Gilles used to describe Monday’s highly-anticipated “Devious Maids” season three finale episode.
“Everything will be answered in the last episode of the season,” he said, “The last episode is very sensual. Very deadly. Things are gonna fly. The episode will explain who has been killing everyone. And, it’s also going to end up with more casualties.” Excuse us? More casualties? Please don’t take someone we love, please!
Spence’s (Grant Show) fate is currently unknown. Hector recently told Ernesto (Cristian de la Fuente) that he “took care of” Spence. We hope this doesn’t mean Spence is dead. Hector is dead, though, thanks to Ernesto. He can certainly unleash some fury, can’t he?
In the season finale preview clip posted on the “Devious Maids” official Facebook page, Sebastien and Carmen announce their engagement, Michael gets arrested, Taylor pounds and yells through a closed hotel door and then a group of people are in a room where someone is holding a gun and shots are fired. It almost looks like Sebastien is holding the gun …
Gilles has done an excellent job keeping us guessing about Sebastien’s motives. He has thoroughly enjoyed having a chance to play “someone different” onscreen. He stressed things are going to be “all tied up” in the finale. But, what do we really know about Sebastien anyway? He appeared out of nowhere, seduced Carmen and promised her his record executive wife would make her a star. After his wife discovered the affair she blacklisted Carmen in the music industry. Carmen was devastated and broke up with Sebastien.
All the while, Sebastien claimed true love. But, can Carmen trust him? Can we trust him? Is Sebastien a good guy or a bad guy? Is he somehow caught into a downward spiral that he can’t escape from? We know he’s a cheater. Is he a killer too? Carmen obviously can’t stay away from Sebastien. Now they’re getting married. Is that going to be a fatal mistake?
Gilles couldn’t comment directly but offered one final tease, “Definitely Monday night, all h**l is going to break loose. Even in the commercial, people are going to go, ‘Wait a minute. What’s happening?’ It’s violent. It’s shocking. I don’t think the things they’re gonna show have ever been done on this network. It’s very edgy. The things we’re doing are very edgy.
People are going watch it and talk about it the next day. It’s really shocking and I love it. I loved being part of it and I’m proud of how things turned out. I can’t wait till everyone sees it.”
“Devious Maids” season three finale airs on Lifetime on Monday, Aug. 24 at 9 p.m. ET.
