Is there anything that sounds better than bacon and beer? Probably not. This year, EatBoston and Denver Off The Wagon are presenting the fourth annual Denver Bacon and Beer Festival and third annual Brewers Dinner on Nov. 7 and 8 at The Lobby and The Glitter Dome in Denver.
“Scientists have proven that bacon and beer pair perfectly together, and if they haven’t yet, it’s only because scientists haven’t studied this pairing yet, which is frankly unconscionable and is a stark reminder of how much more science we need,” Aaron Cohen, founder of the event told atombash.com.
Not only is the event being put on to show Denver how delicious this combo is, but EatBoson also cares about the well-being of local foods and restaurants as well.
“The ultimate goal of the Bacon and Beer festival is to raise money for deserving local organizations and have a good time,” Cohen said. In the past three years the event has been put on, more than $57,000 has been raised for Project Angel Heart and Metro Caring.
The first night of the weekend-long event will feature a a five-course dinner which will be served at The Lobby, where five local breweries and five chefs from local restaurants will cook up their best bacon-based dishes. (See menu below). The dinner will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
On Sunday, the event will switch gears a bit and get festive. From 2:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. at The Glitter Dome, more than 50 restaurants and breweries will be featuring their local bacon and beer pairings. Breweries include Great Divide, Left Hand Brewing, Epic Brewing, Denver Beer Co. and many other local favorites. Restaurants will include Blackbird Public House, Lena, Ignite, The Corner Office and Second Home Kitchen + Bar.
The event will sure to be a party with 800 to 1,000 expected attendees. Tickets range from $50 to $75 and are on sale now at available on Imbibe Events website.
“Denver is a great city for the Bacon and Beer Festival because of the amazing brewing community and fantastic restaurant scene,” Cohen said. He couldn’t be more correct.
