Some people just need to cook and eat at home, you think? Natasha West, 27, a Chicago resident who lives in the 900 block of East 80th Street was arrested after she caused an incident at a restaurant in nearby Oak Lawn which is an immediate southwest suburb of the Windy City. The woman was arrested on Nov. 6 after she threatened a waitress, swung at the waitress and kicked a door on her way out of a restaurant – without paying the bill, according to a Chicago Tribune report on Thursday. West reacted in an irate manner after she was told that she couldn’t continue sharing her all-you-can-eat pancakes meal with her friends who were dining with her.
The Oak Lawn Police Department, the staff at Denny’s restaurant at 9216 South Cicero Ave. where the woman ordered the $4 all-you-can-eat pancakes, nor anyone else doesn’t quite understand what part of all-you-can-eat the woman doesn’t understand. Obviously, it’s “all-you-can-eat” and not “all-you-and-your-friends-can-eat!” According to the police report, West ordered the pancakes and started sharing them with her friends when they were brought to the table. The waitress told her that she was not allowed to share her pancakes with others because – obviously – the offer is only good for one diner at a time.
This obviously angered West as she began swearing at the waitress. Then she swung her fists several times – but fortunately, was a bad aim and never hit the waitress and she was not injured. Without paying, West literally hit the door with her foot several times on her way out of the restaurant – apparently with her entourage of friends in tow.
After the Denny’s manager called authorities and gave a description of the car that West and her friends left in, a Hometown city police officer saw the car at Southwest Highway and Pulaski Road – a short distance from the restaurant – and stopped the pancake-eaters. After being returned to Denny’s, West was identified by employees. One of West’s friends finally made good on the pancakes and paid the bill.
Authorities charged West with assault and damage to property. One of West’s alleged friends was also charged with a crime. According to Every Block, Jerome Lee Ivory, 31, of the 9500 block of Avalon Avenue in Chicago, allegedly provided false identification to the police. As per usual, online social media is having a field day with the “all-everybody-can’t-eat” pancake story created in real-time by Natasha West. Comments range from: “It’s no different that going to a buffet, grabbing two plates – one for you and one for your friend – and start eating while only paying for one” to “You’ve got to be kidding me!”
