The mother of the eight dead babies discovered in a vacant apartment in Germany was found and arrested. Last week police discovered eight dead babies in a rural town in Germany and the hunt was on for the mother of the deceased infants. The 45-year-old woman known only as Andrea G. had left the apartment back in September after a fight with her husband.
According to The Guardian on November 13, the woman was found in a boarding house in the nearby town of Kronach and arrested. She was found with a 55-year-old man, but his relationship to the woman or if he has any involvement in this case is not known at this time.
All eight dead babies were found wrapped in towels and then put in airtight bags locked in a sauna turned storeroom inside a vacant apartment. The grisly scene was first discovered by a neighbor, who called the police.
According to The Spreadit, new details in the discovery of the eight dead infants have emerged. One dead infant was first discovered when a woman who lived in a neighboring apartment went inside the vacant apartment specifically to see if there were dead babies left behind. While this is not something someone would ordinarily hunt for inside a vacant apartment, the neighbor had a reason for doing this.
The neighbor was looking for dead infants because the unnamed husband and wife who lived in that apartment would get drunk and fight and on several occasions the neighbor overheard something shocking. She said she heard the woman in a drunken state yelling at her husband about the dead babies she had hidden.
With the apartment empty she decided to nose around and she found a dead baby. This is when she called the police. When the police came to the scene they found seven more dead infants inside the locked storeroom. German newspapers are reporting that the woman may have killed some of those babies to “hide her frequent pregnancies.” Although some reports suggest that four of the deceased babies may be the result of miscarriages.
The bodies of these infants were severely decomposed making it hard for authorities to get a correct number of the dead infants originally. This bizarre case will have its day in court shortly. It is not known what charges were brought against the mother of these deceased infants.
A state prosecutor handling the case, Martin Dippold, reports that they do not know the ages of the babies, their cause of death or for how long they have been dead. The results of the eight autopsies should offer up some of the answers to the questions and the results are expected this coming week.
This husband and wife lived at that apartment for about 18 years and they had three children together and they also had four children from the wife’s previous relationship. From all accounts they were wonderful parents and she was a great mom, according to those who know the woman. The apartment still had figurines of children on the wall.
