The dynamic and dazzling Danielle Demski radiates a vitality that stems from health and joy. This vibrant talent has achieved everything that she’s set her mind to, from being an NFL cheerleader and Miss Arizona USA to finding success as an actress, a spokeswoman, and a red carpet reporter. The deeper you read into her résumé, the more impressed you become. The most recent role for this seasoned and spirited broadcast journalist is the host of the Tennis Channel’s “Fit To Hit,” a 30-minute nutrition and fitness program designed to take you from wherever you are to your absolute best. Demski’s program premiers Sunday August 16 at noon (ET)
“I grew up playing tennis, but I’ve also been working in hosting and broadcasting for a long time,” Danielle told Examiner in a recent interview. When the Tennis Channel approached Demski to talk about the show, it was quickly decided that the pairing would be an excellent fit. “I’ve been traveling around to different tennis hot spots, talking with pros and trainers and nutritionists and all different kinds of people to get the latest scoop on how to better your game. ‘Fit to Hit’ is about improving your nutrition and your fitness level. It’s not just a program for somebody who is a high level tennis player or a pro, the tips we present are pointers that your weekend warrior can use, as well.”
This season, Demski will be bringing the tennis enthusiast everything from insights gleaned at a junior tennis camp populated by talented youths to pro workout tips gathered during an in-depth interview with John Isner, himself!
Whether she is jumping out of a plane, chatting with aliens from “Star Trek,” or hanging out with Taylor Swift, Danielle brings an infectious energy with her on every escapade. Often, the individuals interacting with Demski can not help but reflect her charged personality by breaking into song, breaking into an inspired dance, or just embracing the moment and becoming absolutely silly. Danielle has a sparkling magic that always brings out the best in people.
Having spoken with so many different people from so many different walks of life over the years has afforded the host with an unexpected benefit: she’s great at trivia! “I do have a lot of useless facts at my fingertips,” she laughed. “My friends constantly tell me, ‘You know the weirdest stuff!’”
One curious bit of information that Danielle picked up while doing this show was “oysters are one of the best brain foods you could possibly eat. Since I love oysters, that’s really just an excuse for me to eat even more,” she laughed again.
But it wasn’t Demski’s general knowledge that landed her this position, it was the specifics. As previously noted, she comes with experience in both hosting and tennis. And, she grew up with a mother who was obsessed with the sport. “I definitely have a knowledge of the game, but I’m also kind of your average player,” Danielle informed. “I’m not a pro. I’m not on the tour. The things that might work for me, will also work for the viewers.”
“Plus, I love to travel,” she added, “and, coincidentally, this show has a lot of travel in it. Lastly, I’m very into health and fitness.” All of those details reinforce the fact that Demski is, indeed, the perfect host for the show.
“Tennis is a game that you can basically play your whole life,” Daniele concluded. “‘Fit to Hit’ has something for every level of tennis player, whether you’ve never picked up a racket before or you’ve been playing since you were five years old. However, aside from being a tennis player or just enjoying the sport, there are also so very many great nutrition and fitness facts that we present.”
“It’s a really fun show to work on and it’s really interesting. I’ve learned a lot from the people I’ve interviewed. I love all of the people I am working with and I definitely enjoy what I’m doing. I’m so lucky to be able to make a living doing something I love.”
