Last time we checked in on LiveHotSpot NYC, they had just thrown an amazing launch party at Hudson Terrace featuring Cam’ron. The website and mobile app have come a long way since 2012, and now offer even more perks for NYC partygoers to to enjoy. In addition to providing the dish on who’s at the hottest clubs, profiles of the most popular venues, and a live music calendar, there are several new features that have been added in the past year. “The new version highlights VIP packages that are exclusive to our users,” LiveHotSpot NYC Event Director JD Awad told atombash.com. “These include VIP Hosting Tables, Cut The Line features, and Guaranteed Admissions.”
NYC clubgoers know that some venues– especially in the Meatpcking District– charge ridiculous prices for tables and require outrageous bar tabs. LiveHotSpot users are paired with a VIP host who walks them inside, and acts as their personal concierge. “For the VIP hosting table option, groups of up to 20 people are met outside, walked in via expedited entry and seated in the VIP section with complimentary vodka and champagne throughout the evening,” Awad explained. “This has been an extremely popular feature on our new app as we are organizing VIP packages for our users each weekend.”
But, isn’t that what club promoters all around New York already do? Not quite. “Promoters are all about the hustle,” asserted Awad. “They nickel and dime and try to monetize off their ‘clients’ in any way they can. They are one of the most untrustworthy breeds in the business world. They constantly promise people things they can’t deliver on just to get them to the venue; then once the client is at the venue they are bombarded with demands to get inside.
“LiveHotSpot doesn’t exist for the venue, we are here for the user,” Awad continued. “We aim to develop a sense of trust with our users so they know they can come to us for a guaranteed good time and that we are reliable source of news for what is going on where and not trying to hustle our users to purchase packages just because we work with the venue.
“Through the app users also know exactly what they are getting before they get to the door. There are no surprises and no added charges once they are at the venue. And we offer such an affordable package that no one else is offering– and because of this, users come to us over promoters, as promoters could never execute this service.”
Those who don’t want to get a table, but still want expedited admission, can utilize a different aspect of the LiveHotSpot app. “The Cut The Line feature has also been a big hit as it guarantees admissions and has a host pick our users off the line and walk them to the front of the door,” said Awad. “This is a cheaper option to our VIP package, however, the Cut the Line feature does not include the VIP section with complimentary alcohol.”
There are several nightlife apps to choose from, but none are quite like LiveHotSpot. They simply reward their users in ways that other sites do not. “We are a news source with an added feature that allows you access into the events we cover and to the events we host,” Awad noted.
Again, we are here for the users and to build a sense of trust. Other apps require you to put your credit card information in immediately and are aiming to sell you on a product or service on every screen and every chance they get. Other reservation applications are asking for thousands of dollars in minimum spending for access to table reservations– and are asking you to pay in full before you even get to the venue. This is troublesome as more often than not, the service they were promised is not 100% because at the end of the day, entry is based on doorman’s discretion, and the door staff are always trying to find ways to increase the spend for customers, whether that’s increasing the minimum to get in or pocketing a couple hundred bucks under the table.”
The Manhattan club scene truly needs LiveHotSpot. Any chance that other metropolises can experience the joy? “We have been approached by marketing and promotions groups in DC, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Chicago to roll out a franchising platform or expand to the cities,” Awad revealed exclusively to atombash.com. “We want to make sure we have perfected our model in NYC so that we know it is scalable to other cities. Doing an expansion is very expensive in terms of venture capital dollars, and with that comes giving up more equity.
“Equity is the most valuable commodity we have, so a franchising model is more likely than an expansion as we can license out the technology and subscription list, rather than pay developers to incorporate another city model directly under our management.”
Well, there you have it. For now, LiveHotSpot will remain LiveHotSpot NYC. And the site will host a killer party at Highline Ballroom on Oct. 10, featuring a performance by Juvenile! This journalist and 15 of her friends will be in attendance, thanks to a complimentary table from the app. Look for more details on the party on LiveHotSpot NYC’s website, and download the app through iTunes and Google Play.
