Even on a “sunglasses and Advil” kind of day, wouldn’t you rather cover your eyes with a top-notch pair of shades? Stylish sunglasses can provide the perfect accent to the simplest outfit, and nothing says style like YEROC. Corey Woods launched his eponymous line of luxury eyewear back in 2010 and has established a reputable brand identity within a short five years. His entrepreneurial success has already earned the brand a host of celebrity supporters and customers, including Amber Rose, Naomi Campbell, Kimora Lee Simmons, and even the Queen Bey herself, just to name a few. Woods is no stranger to New York Fashion Week, but he executed a fabulous, private YEROC launch event for the Spring/Summer 2016 season on Sunday, September 13.
Any friend or follower of Woods knows him for exquisite, luxurious taste, which is exactly his approach to the YEROC brand. Each of his collections portrays a distinct and vibrant theme that eloquently reflects the brand’s identity. Last week, Woods presented The VALKANK Collection, a 7-piece assortment of uniquely crafted frames that can easily transition from business to pleasure. Each pair is made of a rare Bermudian bamboo that further enhances the exotic energy of the collection. Wood presented his full range of new products on an aesthetically pleasing, multi-colored display that beautifully complemented the radiant hues of the lenses. If there was anything more fabulous than the collection itself, it was the overall ambience of the event.
Attendees were escorted to a high-rise loft space with a rustic, art-deco appeal. The elevators opened to a step and repeat next to the dynamic product display. Woods utilized every bit of the space with brand signage and video loops on several TV displays of his celebrity clientele wearing his products. Socialites and fashion influencers mingled until the fashion show, which showcased both male and female models in chic but sexy apparel to accompany the lavishness of the eyewear. Woods collaborated with celebrity stylist Jen Abrams on putting together a cohesive show that effortlessly highlighted the YEROC brand. Other celebrity guests included NBA star Kelly Oubre, Jr., Dallas Wade of America’s Next Top Model, supermodel Wendell Lissimore, and stylist/TV personality Derek Warburton. From the elegant assortment of h’ordeuvres to the decorative array of dessert, Woods definitely made yet another indelible impression on New York Fashion Week.
