The Marshes Golf Club’s commitment to promoting junior golf goes to a higher level on Oct. 3 when the premium Kanata property hosts its College Golf Day.
“Finding the right college golf program is a challenge and parents and players can find themselves asking questions such as: ‘Where do I start? Who should I talk to? Which school is right for my son or daughter? What scholarship opportunities are available? How can my child get noticed?’” said Andrew Donaldson, director of golf operations at The Marshes. “Our College Golf Day is the ideal event to attend because these questions will be answered whether the junior player is a high school freshman or about to become a senior.”
At The Marshes College Golf Day, each player receives a personal college golf resume in the most efficient and trusted format. The resume will include measurements of important components of each player’s game, giving him or her a complete package to be viewed by college coaches.
The event, which runs from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., features a personal interview, a personal swing video from proper angles, TrackMan launch monitor evaluation, evaluations of putting, chipping, pitching and bunker play and a mental game assessment.
Canadian and American college coaches from the CIS, OUA, CCAA, NCAA Divisions I II III, NAIA, NJCAA, and the on-site instructor will have access to the players’ resumes via the Golf Combines website. The players receive access to a database of college and university programs and the golf coaches likely to best suit each player’s skills.
