“Cold Justice” follows former prosecutor Kelly Siegler & former crime scene investigator (CSI) Yolanda McClary. They seek justice in unsolved murders at small towns across the United States.
“In the Neighborhood: Part 1” opened with Kelly & Yolanda heading to the town of White Settlement, Texas. Laura Walsh was stabbed three times & burned to death in 1992. Five months later, Gene Giddens & Keith Durington were also burned to death in a house fire. Investigators believe that both cases might be connected with at least 10 possible suspects.
Laura was dragged out of a burning living room by a neighbor. She liked to drink alcohol & had several sugar daddy’s. It looked like a random burglary & Laura was sexually assaulted before she was killed. Donald Wright’s DNA connected him to Laura who lived across the street. He claimed that he didn’t know Laura at all, but their sex could’ve have been consensual.
Gene returned home from Hawaii to meet up with Keith who just graduated from college. Gene cashed a check worth $3,000 & planned a house party. Both of the men were struck in the head & their throats were slashed. Their bodies were set on fire 24 hours after they were killed. Investigators believe the three deaths are connected through someone who knew all of them.
Donald Wright was not at the party of Gene & Keith. He may have known other young men who went to that party. Investigators have to connect Donald with Laura & to both Gene & Keith. Yolanda joins them & they look at both crime scenes. All the witnesses & friends who knew Laura are interviewed. Donald is also interviewed in prison.
