Billy Joel married his fourth wife, Alexis Roderick, an equestrian and former Morgan Stanley executive and aged 33 at the time on July 4 at his Long Island estate. Said report was confirmed by Cindy Clark of USA Today last July 5, a day after the wedding. Billy’s third wife, Christie Brinkley did not attend the wedding despite the fact that she and Billy have maintained their friendship after their divorce on August 25, 1994.
Despite her absence, Christie Brinkley, second wife of Billy Joel and mother to Alexa Ray Joel congratulated the newly wed. In her official Instagram account, Brinkley posted a photo of Billy and Alexis that captioned “Congratulation to the glowing bride and groom.. And to my daughter Alexa, who has a wonderful friend in Alexis! Wishing the growing family every happiness!”
Just minutes after reading Brinkley’s message to the newly wed, some observers specifically those who are following her life immediately reacted. They all agreed that Christie really has a good heart because she still managed to give her support to Billy despite their separation. On the other hand, aside from Christie Brinkley, Joel’s ex-wife, Alexa Ray Joel, a 29-year-old daughter of Joel and Christie also posted a photo of her dad and Alexis Roderick on her Instagram account.
Alexa captioned “After six years of quiet yet unrelenting devotion / A surprise wedding sets their undivided promise in motion / I’ve never seen Pop more besotted yet contented / Nor his Darling, more luminously glowing / And, sufficed to say / On this glimmering gold-coast day / Many a tear on my hopelessly-romantic cheek was flowing.”
These messages prove that Christie together with her daughter Alexa Ray Joel are still on good terms contrary to some observers’ claim that they’re not. Obviously, just like his career, Billy really has a colorful love life. Billy Joel’s first wife was Elizabeth Weber Small. They got married on September 5, 1973, and she became his manager. His song “She’s Always a Woman” was inspired by her. She was also the inspiration for the waitress character in “Piano Man”. They divorced on July 20, 1982.
He married his second wife, Christie Brinkley. They divorced on August 25, 1994; the couple remain friendly. On October 2, 2004, Joel married his third wife Katie Lee, aged 23 at the time. At the time of the wedding, Joel was 55. Joel’s daughter, Alexa Ray, then 18, served as maid-of-honor. Joel’s second wife, Christie Brinkley, attended the union and gave the couple her blessing.
