Back in the Sixties, this guy created a movie, that you could say, “Altered Your MIND”! Well, heck, almost everything alters your mind, in some way or another. Think about it, everything we see, hear, say, do… all have an effect on our minds in some way or another. Even if we do not realize it… it does! That is why there are commercials, ads, billboards, even bumper stickers are created to give us a message of some sort. So, I guess the moral of this story is to create your own thought patterns of positive, happy inputs. Don’t let everyone else out there control your mind.
Now as far as your taste-buds are concerned, though…“you are under my control… you will bake and share and eat some of these cookies… you will be a good person… you will clean up your mess afterwards”! O.K. now that you are under the “spell”, go have some fun and bake these cookies. If you are under a budget, Triple sec will work fine instead of the Gran Marnier.
1 – cup unsalted butter @ room temperature
¾ – cup light brown sugar
¾ – cup sugar
2 – eggs
1 – teaspoon vanilla
3 – Tablespoons Gran Marnier (could substitute Triple Sec)
3 – cups flour
½ – cup cocoa
1 – teaspoon salt
1 – teaspoon baking soda
2 – cups jumbo semisweet chocolate chips
In a separate stainless steel mixing bowl, cream the butter until smooth. Add the sugars and beat until smooth. Next, add the eggs and vanilla. Starting with the half of the dry ingredients alternating with the Gran Marnier, mix in until thoroughly incorporated. Next, add chocolate chips and mix well. This cookie recipe bakes best right after mixing.
Preheat the oven to three hundred fifty-degrees. Line a sheet pan with wax paper or parchment paper. Scoop six, cookie dough balls using a four-ounce ice cream scoop and place two by three on the lined sheet pan. Cover the dough balls with wax paper and press into a disc using the bottom of a salt can or something flat. Remove the outer wax paper and bake for approximately fourteen to sixteen minutes or until the edges are lightly crisp. Cool before removing from the pan. Use a spatula to remove the cookies.
O.K. do you remember anything? You were under these cookies “control” and you know what happens when you eat one of these… that is right! It is time for another “Mouthgasm”! Bake up a bunch of these cookies and then, go out and share them with as many people as you can. Everybody loves a warm, fresh baked cookie… especially when they are so chocolatey!
Home-made treats are a nice thing to pass out at Halloween, that is, as long as you know everyone you pass them to. Some people are leery about taking treats that are not sealed well, in fear that somebody might do something to hurt their child. Now that is sad, that in our world, we have gotten to a point to where it is hard to trust almost… anyone! We need to start working on building “trust” again. A place where we can walk outside without fear of being attacked. We need to start “knowing” our neighbors and doing things for them, like a good neighbor would do.
Today, make a change… for the good! Make a difference in someone else’s life! Be the change that the world needs! Thanks my friends for tuning in and remember that you have two choices in life… 1) to have “Gladitude” 2) to have a “Baditude”. It is your choice… no matter what, though… I choose to have a “Gladitude”! Until next time, live life to the fullest! This IS your life… it is not a practice game! It is the “SUPERBOWL” of life… your life! You are the MVP! Peace…
If you don’t go out on the limb… you will never get the fruit~
