Summer is for fun, right? It’s in full bloom and that means more time with family and get-togethers under the sun. We often meet over meals, picnics, and at the grill. If you add punch to your casual meals, it helps to set the mood. That’s why we wanted to hear more from Cheeky. Cheeky makes cool, colorful paper products. We just recently interviewed the brand’s representative to find out more.
” …it helps to set the mood.”
The brainchild of Cheeky is founder P.J. Brice. A transplant from England—he grew up in a small country village outside a long drive from London. He fell in love with America after coming here to play Rugby. He also met the love of his life here. A creative whip, he decided to decorate the aisles of the store with kicky—well, cheeky—paper products.
Here are some questions we asked PJ:
Q.: Were you worried about entering the crowded paper product line?
P.J.: I think the FAQ answer below best addresses where Cheeky is going in terms of sustainability…
Q.: Are Cheeky products sustainable?
P.J.: Cheeky is committed to providing colorful and sustainable products. Our paper plates, bowls and napkins are made from responsibly forested material and compostable in commercial composting facilities. All Cheeky products are BPA free. And our plastic cups are recyclable: you can recycle the clear cups through most any curb-side recycling program.
In addition, most of our products are made right here in the U.S.A. which means reduced shipping costs. But we know we can do even better. Stay tuned! Cheeky aims to offer more environmentally-friendly products within 24 months of our launch.
Q.: Any tips for summer tablescapes?
P.J.: Mix and Match!
Q.: Where can products be found?
Take a look at the slideshow and see if you don’t agree; the tablescape possibilities are good for summer,”ton-of-fun” family meals together. Just fire up the grill!

Oh, before I forget: With every Cheeky product you buy, they will help donate a meal (through Feeding America) to someone who needs it right here in the U.S. And, they have the Paper Plate Awards; here’s how it works:
Who’s fighting hunger in your community?
Two million people volunteer with the Feeding America network – every month! Let’s recognize these Hunger Heroes. You can nominate your local hero for a Cheeky Paper Plate Award.
