“I have always been fascinated and inspired by the incredible work of Norman Parkinson. He is a legendary photographer that, in the fashion world, we turn to again and again. As a makeup artist, I share a library of classic visual references with the photographers, creative directors and stylists that I work with on shoots and shows. Norman Parkinson’s work is part of this heritage and is so often featured on the visual mood boards that I create for beauty concepts and behind the scenes. It is a dream come true to feature his images on this series of compacts and makeup bags. With the collaboration of the archive, we knew that we would honor Parkinson in the best light possible. I’m incredibly proud to be celebrating one of the fashion greats in this way, and bringing his work to life for a new millennial generation.” Charlotte Tilbury
DREAMY GLOW HIGHLIGHTER: Transition your skin from winter to a golden summer in one easy swipe. Dreamy Glow is a soft, mood lit Youth Highlighter for “peaches and cream,” dreamy skin. It’s the perfect blend of pearl and pigment to enhance your complexion, scattering light and opalescence across your features for a youthful, soft, glow. It’s a softer, more ambient lighting effect compared to Filmstar Bronze & Glow, which has a spot-lit skin look. With golden, mother of pearl tones: the highlighting youth powder uses light flex technology to capture light and radiate it out across the skin for a pretty. Dreamy soft-focused effect, apply to the top of the cheekbones, down the center of the nose and on the Cupid’s bow with my Powder and Sculpt Brush for youthful, peaches and cream, glowing skin.
WENDA PARKINSON shot on Pigeon Point, Tobago “This is an image of pure, endless summer. It takes me to a world of castaway, dreamy-like paradise. I discovered it as a negative at the archive and was amazed to hear it had never been made into a print. This compact is the first time this image has been produced and made available to own. I couldn’t do collaboration with Norman Parkinson without honoring his biggest muse and wife, Wenda. Wenda was an actress, model and author, and she was introduced to Norman by Cecil Beaton, she was his most enduring muse.
They met in 1947 and remained together for the rest of their lives. I’m inspired by the love story of Norman and Wenda and created this color thinking of the blush of love and happiness that keeps you youthful forever.” Charlotte Tilbury “Wenda…offered to my camera a quiet beauty that does not look so out of date today. Girls change, clothes change, but beauty itself, in whatever forms it is viewed, is sealed there forever – it is frozen, it is permanent and it does not age.” Norman Parkinson
