Where we pay attention will also direct our life. Most people don’t use this tremendous tool. The quality of our life is determined by who we are and how we use our mind. The nature of our life determines whether life is sad. There are countless stories of people who transcended terrible life story consequences. We can focus our attention anywhere we choose to and that is what will manifest for us.
Learning to detach from our thoughts. You don’t need to abandon thinking. When you use that function of the mind more discriminatorily you can let go of negative thoughts, thinking and actions. Just setting them down somewhere, letting them settle and then going on without them.
Like anger it’s the trigger that person, what we might day to them and it goes on and on and it gets us mad and we want to say and do something to that person. Our perspective needs to change. How we perceive things. A lot of turmoil and buzzing of the mind all of the time and not experiencing what it is like to be without the constant buzzing. The constant buzzing of the mind the constant thing along the line of anger and what brought you to that point becomes an addiction.
If you just sit down and quiet your thoughts you can get under the constant waves in the ocean. You can train yourself to see yourself in others and them in us. We are everywhere. It’s those depths that unite us and what is beyond ego. Awakening from “us and them.”
There are two things to focus on in life, first what we want and second to enjoy it. Having emotions is human. You are the master of your moods. You don’t have to cling to them. Meditation, just 15-30 minutes a day, we experience the unity in things. You aren’t being denied your uniqueness but it will be revealed to you what is beyond ego and the dysfunction of the duality of us and them thinking.
You are already this incredible person but sometimes you just need to get out of your own way. The now, live it, taste it, enjoy it, chew it until the next moment comes up. A wandering mind is an unhappy mind. Your focus and drive are twice as powerful after meditating. Moment to moment to moment you are getting into the flow. The more you meditate and train your mind the more you are in the flow.
What makes meditation difficult for people is that they are in their own way. Don’t over think it. Get into the physicalness of it, just breathe and calm the mind. What’s it like to get caught up in or pulled into someone else’s drama? It’s chaotic, we lose our way, our balance is off, we don’t know our way around in there. It’s not energy we brought into the situation.
Common sense is our best friend but it can also lead us astray. If you tell people their life isn’t working because they have a crack in their life, they aren’t motivated to change it. But if you take all of the cracks in a person’s life and show them how big the cracks are when put together, say the size of the basketball, then people get motivated to change. When you tell people what it is they are losing out of their life by this hole in their life that is the size of the basketball then the fire is under them to change, and they want the information.
People think the way to change is to change their attitude. You don’t have to change your attitude to change. Attitudes follow behavior they don’t predict it. As a kid you were told to turn off the light when you left a room. It worked. It’s setting behavioral expectations. What is it that you really care about in your life? Identify it, you core values. You shouldn’t waste money, people’s time, natural resources for example. What motivates you? What increases the likely hood that you will do it, seeing someone else do it. Giving money to a street musician or leaving a tip. People will do it when they see others doing it. If a hotel puts out a sign that says their regular guest help the hotel by conserving energy by reusing their towels then the other guests will do it. It’s what children do it’s called modeling. It helps to put yourself around people who are modeling the behavior you like. Make your change meaning full. You can be successful.
The brain without meditation is stuck on me. Decreasing the rumination and the overthinking and take three giant steps backwards. When you meditate you are going within and this changes the connections or the lack of connection you have with just the me to the we. What happens when you are doing something you enjoy it directs your attention to your essence, your soul. Your soul then responds to you Inner peace and your chances of intuition increase. You are clearing the mind and making more room for soul to enter and occupy your body mind and emotions.
