Bobbi Kristina Brown died after being in a coma since Jan. 31, and after being in hospice care since June 24. The 22-year-old died on Sunday, July 26. Since then, there has been an outpouring of condolences from fans, family and friends on social media, where they have expressed deep sadness over the tragedy, according to ABC News on Monday.
Oprah Winfrey interviewed Bobbi Kristina soon after her mother’s death. Oprah’s response on Twitter was short. She simply said, “Peace at Last!” Jennifer Hudson posted on Instagram a picture of Bobbi Kristina as a baby lying in the arms of her mother on a bed. Under the photo Jennifer posted, “You were loved by someone, touched by someone, held by someone, meant something to someone, loved somebody, touched somebody’s heart along the way, u can look back and say you were loved.”
Hello Beautiful reported that T.D. Jakes posted, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of such a young, vibrant life.” Rick Warren commented, “I’m so sad to hear that #BobbiKristina has died. What a tragedy.” Reverend Al Sharpton wrote, “My prayers are with Cissy Houston, Bobby Brown, and the entire family and love ones of Bobbi Christina. So sad. May God grant her peace.”
Sherri Shepherd posted, “She is finally back in her Mother’s arms.” Taraji P. Henson, like Oprah, kept it short. She said, “Rest in heaven.” Ava DuVernay posted, “She seemed to be caught in the web of celebrity upon arrival. Twenty-two years. A sad end. May the sister have peace now.” Paula Abdul wrote, “I was greatly saddened to hear of the passing of #BobbiKristina -I send my love & heartfelt condolences to the Brown & Houston families.”
Viola Davis tweeted, “My prayers are with the entire Houston/Brown family. May #BobbiKristina, rest peacefully with her mother in heaven.” According to T.J. Holmes, “Tragedy on top of tragedy. Whitney Houston died young. But her daughter doesn’t even make it past 22. Makes no sense.” Vivica A. Fox wrote, “RIP #BobbiKristina My deepest sympathies 2 your father #BobbyBrown n your GrandMa #CissyHouston We will miss ya 4sho darling ;)”
Donna Brazile wrote about her personal tragedy. She said, “Lost my Mom Jean in my 20s & it was devastating. None of us really understand what #BobbiKristina had to deal with given the circumstances.” Messages were posted by Kylie Jenner and Keyshia Cole. Loni Love of “The Real” remarked, “ET has confirmed that Whitney Houston’s daughter #BobbiKristina has died at 22. Condolences to the family.”
