Sarah Dugdale went from performing Shania Twain songs on her couch as a kid to roles on CW hit shows Supernatural and Arrow, as well as USA Network’s Rush. This lovely and talented young actress had a busy July with her The Movie Network films Sugarbabies and Sorority Murder. Coming up this Halloween 2105 will premiere her horror TV movie The Hollow on SyFy Network. Born in Victoria, BC she took her first dance class at five years old school’s musical, and although quite shy, she auditioned for her school’s production of Aladdin. Dugdale has never looked back.
Q. What can you share about your recent movies Stolen Daughter, Sugarbabies, and Sorority Murder?
A. “Stolen Daughter has a title that doesn’t mislead. It is about a detective suffering from PTSD and her daughter who gets abducted. I play Sarah, the detective’s daughter. Sugarbabies was such a cool project because of the subject matter and the killer costumes. It tackles the topic of college girls dating older men in exchange for money and gifts. Sorority Murder is about the president of a sorority getting killed, and the newest member who is the prime suspect. I play Gabrielle: a member of the sorority who is tougher than she seems.”
Q. The Hollow that comes out around Halloween on SyFy channel? What was it like on the set of a horror movie?
A. “There was lots of screaming, running, crying, and blood. I loved every minute of it! I am a huge horror movie buff so I was ecstatic to be a part of one.”
Q. You played the role of Chloe in the Supernatural episode “Party On, Garth.” How did the cast and crew welcome you to the set?
A. “Everyone was great. That set really has a sense of family because the cast and crew have been working together for so many years. I feel fortunate to have gotten to be a part of such an iconic series.”
Q. I read on your bio that you’re getting my private pilot’s license. I’m super impressed. What inspired you to do that?
A. “My dad inspired me. He has his pilot’s license and as a family we would fly over to Vancouver Island to visit my grandpa. My dad is such a hard-working man with many talents. He has always taught me that the sky’s the limit… Pun intended ;)”
Q. I understand you make a mean chocolate chip cookie. Any other hidden talents that your fans would like to know about?
A. “I can do an aerial, which is essentially a cartwheel minus your hands on the ground.”
Q. I see you played baseball when you were young. If you were a baseball player, what would your walk up song be?
A. “I love old Kanye songs so my walk up song would be ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ by Kanye West.”
