The first game of the season for The Canton Charge, presented by SecureData 365 and powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, will be at home against the Maine Red Claws who are the Boston Celtics affiliate D-League team at the Canton Memorial Civic Center located at 1101 Market Avenue N in downtown Canton, Ohio. Tipoff will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015.
As part of the celebration of Canton, Ohio being an integral part of this fifth season the day will begin with an inaugural Charge 5K race that will take runners throughout the historic Canton downtown district. The race begins at 9 a.m.
As game time grows near on that day and prior to tipoff The Canton Charge will host a FanFest that will include lots of activities, inflatable games, collectable giveaway, the Charge Girls and more.
There are 50 total games for the regular season with 24 home and 24 road games plus two NBA D-League Showcase games in Santa Cruz, California (scheduled from Jan. 6 to 10, 2016. Sixteen of the home games are on weekends with four on Friday, 11 on Saturday and one on Sunday. With the Charge now in the Central Division the Charge will have 24 games within their division, 20 against the Atlantic Division, 3 against the West and one against a team in the Southwest Division.
As in previous seasons that brought franchise record breaking crowds to the Canton Memorial Civic center, the Charge will continue with theme nights that include Cavs Night, Faith & Fellowship Night, Youth Basketball Night, Fan Appreciation Night and more! Other fan favorite promotions including Sugardale Dollar Dog Days, Friday postgame free-throws, Kids Zone & Saturday postgame autographs presented by Contellation, and Family Days will return this year! The Canton Charge are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League and the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League, both of which play their games at Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland.
