Turkey day is over and thoughts naturally turn to sugar plums, twinkling lights, and Rudolph and company driving Santa to deliver Christmas presents. There are still several weeks to go before the big day but at Busch Gardens Tampa, you can start to celebrate the holidays early.
The Christmas winter wonderland known as Christmas Town runs through Dec. 31 providing plenty of days, and nights, to enjoy the park’s festivities. From Dec.4 through Dec 31, with the exception of 3 days, Busch Gardens Tampa is open until 10 p.m. On Dec. 24 and Dec 25, celebrate with family and friends until 8 p.m. On the Dec 31, Busch Gardens Tampa is the place to ring in the New Year with celebrations going on until 1 a.m.
At Christmas Town, there’s plenty to do for everyone of all ages. One of the first things you’ll want to do is visit Christmas Town Village where you’ll find beautifully decorated cabins decked out for the holidays and filled with gifts for Christmas shoppers.
Indulge in a tasty holiday treat like the fresh cookies and a cup of sweet hot chocolate or a mini holiday pie then get the gets boarded on the Jingle Bell Express. Enjoy a selection of model trains as they make their way around a miniature city while listening to the sounds of the season as the Conductorettes regale visitors with their seasonal caroling.
More things to do at Christmas Town at Busch Gardens Tampa is a visit to Santa’s Christmas Town workshop. You’ll find the workshop at the Marrakesh Market filled with a bevy of holiday favorites such as nutcrackers, Christmas decorations, and extra special holiday gifts to stuff the stockings.
There is a wide selection of dining options at Busch Gardens Tampa celebrating the season such as the Dragon Fire Grill, SheiKra Sweet Treats, Kenya Kanteen, Crown Colony Restaurant, Zagora Cafe, and yummy goodies from the Holiday Food Truck.
After you’ve satisfied your appetite, enjoy the many Christmas shows from live music and dancing lights to stunning performers featuring skating and Christmas on ice. Stop by Santa’s House so the kids can have their picture taken with Santa and see the elves at work then head to Penguin Point to watch their show and get another picture taken.
And then there are the rides Busch Gardens Tampa is known for. Hop aboard the Christmas Town Express for carols while riding through the Serengeti. While on some of the park’s thrill rides, you’ll have a clear view of Christmas Town down below.
