Comedian couple Chelsea Peretti and Jordan Peele are engaged. The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actress announced on Twitter Saturday, Nov. 28 that her boyfriend of two years proposed to her “during the family talent show,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
“My fiancé (lololol) @JordanPeele proposed to me last night during the family talent show lolol,” wrote Peretti. The “Key & Peele” alum responded by tweeting a diamond ring emoji at Peretti. A Twitter announcement of their engagement seems fitting given that the couple met via the social networking site.
“Me and Jordan also met on the Internet, on Twitter,” Peretti told Entertainment Weekly. ““He was very complimentary of the Web series I once did.” Fellow actors Mindy Kaling, Seth Green, Jason Mitchell (“Straight Outta Compton”) and Peretti’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” co-star Melissa Fumero were among the people to congratulate the couple on Twitter, in addition to the official account of the Fox comedy, which co-stars Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Lo Truglio and Peretti’s childhood friend Andy Samberg.
Peele, 36, and Keegan-Michael Key recently ended their Comedy Central sketch comedy series “Key & Peele” after five seasons, with the show’s finale airing in September. They will appear together in the upcoming missing-cat comedy “Keanu,” while Peele will lend his voice to the animated feature “Captain Underpants,” and write and direct his first film, the horror flick “Get Out.” Peretti, 37, appeared in a season 4 episode of “Key & Peele” as an art show presenter. Her other TV credits include “Drunk History,” “Kroll Show,” “Louie,” “The Sarah Silverman Program,” “Comedy Bang! Bang!” and “Gravity Falls.”
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 3 continues Sundays at 8:30/7:30 p.m. CT on Fox, with the last episode of the year airing on Dec. 13. The sitcom will move back to Tuesdays when it returns from winter hiatus on Jan. 5 at 9/8 p.m. CT after “Grandfathered.”
