There never seems to be enough light to see the work area when attaching a cable in the back corner of a dark computer case or replacing the display on a Kindle. A flashlight can help but if you’ve ever held a flashlight with one hand and tried to complete a 2-handed task with the other hand, you know it isn’t easy. The Boruit Ultra Bright LED Headlamp is the answer.
Looking a bit like a miner’s headlight, the Boruit headlamp has 3 lights on an adjustable assembly that allows you to shine the light right where you need it. There is 1 large light with a smaller light on either side of it. A power button is conveniently placed on the top of the largest light. Press the button once and the large light comes on. This is considered the Low setting but it offers a very bright light that will provide more than adequate lighting for most tasks. Press the button again and the large light goes off and the 2 smaller lights come on with a broader light beam which to my eyes is not quite as bright as the larger light but is the Medium setting. Press the button a third time and the large light comes on again so all 3 lights are on at the same time providing a wide, brighter light than either the Low or Medium settings on their own. Pressing the button a fourth time produces a very fast flashing light for emergencies. It is very bright and annoying so I turn it off as quickly as possible but it should be quite effective in getting attention in an emergency situation. One last press of the button will turn the light off completely.
The above lighting assembly is attached to an elastic harness of sorts that fits around your head like a baseball cap with the lights above your forehead and the battery pack at the back of your head. A coiled and stretchy cable connects the headlamp in front to the battery pack in the rear. The elastic straps are fully adjustable so the everything fits comfortably around your head. The battery pack has a green light panel that lights up when any of the lights come on so that you are visible to traffic behind you if you’re walking on the side of the road after dark.
The battery pack holds two 18650 Li-Ion Rechargeable batteries that are 4000mAh each. Your Boruit Headlamp will come with 2 batteries already in the battery compartment but you will need to take them out and remove the plastic wrapper from around the batteries and then replace them. The batteries will not make the proper connection for charging if the wrapper is not removed first. To charge the batteries, just connect the little barrel plug on the AC to the charging port under the rubber port cover on the bottom of the battery compartment. The AC adapter has a charging light which will be red when charging and green when charging is complete.
Right beside the charging port is a USB port which is suitable for charging a cell phone or other small device in an emergency.

The listing for this product on Amazon has a couple of errors that you should know about. The product information mentions that the package includes a specially designed USB cable for charging the headlamp’s batteries with a power bank but at some point the manufacturer decided to no longer include it. If you want to have this charging option, you can find USB cables with the required barrel plug from many sellers on Amazon. I have one of those cables and am able to charge the headlamp from a power bank. The product is listed as manufactured by Zeblaze but it is actually from Boruit as you can see by the logo on the elastic straps in the pictures. The seller, ItsCamera (SmartTmall), is aware of these issues and is in the process of getting Amazon to correct the information.
The Boruit headlamp is invaluable for shedding light on craft projects, electronic repairs, eyeglass repairs and even plumbing repairs under the sink. If the power goes out, the headlamp can be worn for reading and walking around the house without having to juggle a flashlight and your computer or dinner tray. Enjoy the convenience and safety of wearing the headlamp for walking, running, or biking after dark. Wear it for walking your dog at night so your hands are free to hold the leash and scoop up after your dog if necessary. The headlamp is water resistant so wearing it in the rain is not a problem but you wouldn’t want to submerge it in a bucket of water. The manufacturer suggests additional uses for the headlamp including camping, hiking, caving, boating, canoeing, and kayaking but I’m sure you can come up with more on your own.
With all the potential situations where one might use this headlamp, you will find it liberating to have your hands free as you walk or perform a task. It provides an amazing amount of light focused right where you need it to perform a repair, reset the circuit breakers, or change a fuse. The adjustable straps will give you a custom fit that will hold the light securely and comfortably on your head. This is a really useful product that would make a great gift for just about anyone on your list. It is available on Amazon for $27.99. Sold by ItsCamera (SmartTmall), your order will be fulfilled by Amazon. Your purchase is eligible for free 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime. I received this product for my honest evaluation which I have provided here.
