Bobbi Kristina Brown’s aunt, Leolah Brown, said Pat Houston and the Houston family want to pull the plug on Bobbi Kristina and let her die because it costs too much to keep her alive. Leolah, the sister of Bobbi Kristina’s father, singer Bobby Brown, slammed Pat Houston as a “money-hungry beast.”
Leolah said Bobbi Kristina is off life support because her health has been improving, so Bobby Brown has no intention of letting his daughter die.
Pat Houston, the wife of Whitney Houston’s brother, Gary, and Bobby Brown were recently named co-guardians, making them jointly responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s medical care and needs. Before that, Bobby Brown was solely in charge of making medical decisions regarding his daughter.
In a volcanic Facebook post June 16, Leolah said Pat Houston complained to Bobby Brown about the high cost of keeping Bobbi Kristina alive, and suggested pulling the plug on her.
“Ms. So-called Pat Houston had the nerve to sarcastically say to my brother Bobby, ‘Why don’t he just pull the plug on Bobbi Kriss, because it’s costing too much money to keep her alive!'” Leolah wrote on Facebook. “YES, Pat Garland did have that nerve to say that to Bobbi Kristina’s father Bobby.”
Leolah continued: “Of course, Bobby’s response to Pat was: ‘I don’t give a dam how much money it takes to keep my daughter alive! It’s not about the money! I will do what I have to to keep my daughter alive!’ Since then, Bobbi Kristina has been improving and taken off life support. God is on our side!”
Leolah also denied media reports claiming Bobbi Kristina was being moved back home to die, saying she’s improving and is nowhere near death. Bobby Brown’s camp and Cissy Houston’s camp have made conflicting statements about the status of Bobbi Kristina’s health. Bobbi Kristina lies unconscious strapped to a ventilator and feeding tube.
Bobbi Kristina Has Irreversible Brain Damages Says Grandma
While the Brown family recently suggested Bobbi Kristina is recovering and briefly regained consciousness, Cissy’s family denied Bobbi ever woke up after suffering irreversible brain damage, Celebrity Health & Fitness reported. “She’s the same, she’s not progressing at all,” said Houston, 81. “There’s still not a great deal of hope.”
Cissy, the mother of Whitney Houston, said she’s praying Bobbi will recover, but said she’ll be at peace if Bobbi dies. Sources said Bobby Brown has dug in his heels and will “never, ever” turn off Bobbi Kristina’s life support as long as she’s still breathing.
“Don’t believe any reports that Bobby is going to take her off life support,” said a Brown family source. “He’s never going to do that. I don’t think he’ll ever go there. If there’s a 2% chance, a 1%, or a 0.1% chance, he will keep hope alive.”
When Whitney Houston died in 2012, she left her $20 million estate to Bobbi Kristina, her only child. Whitney’s will stipulated that if Bobbi Kristina died, the estate would pass to her mom, Cissy, her brother Gary Houston and his wife, Pat.
Bobby Brown, who divorced Whitney Houston in 2007, gets nothing from Bobbi Kristina’s estate. All of Bobbi Kristina’s medical bills are presumably being paid through her trust, which is dwindling (which means the Houstons’ inheritance is getting smaller every day).
Bobbi Kristina, 22, is out of her medically induced coma but has irreversible brain damage and is unresponsive. While Bobbi may be able to live a long life despite the extensive brain damage, experts say a full recovery is impossible.
