Bobbi Kristina Brown’s aunt, Leolah Brown, was kicked out of Bobbi’s funeral Aug. 1 after yelling at Pat Houston during the service. “Pat you know you are wrong for this!” Leolah reportedly shouted at Pat before being removed from the funeral.
After the outburst, security escorted Leolah out of the church. Director Tyler Perry followed to help ease the situation. Absent from the funeral was Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, who had begged to attend.
Tyler Perry, a longtime friend of Bobbi Kristina’s mom, the late Whitney Houston, offered to pay for the funeral to stop the ugly bickering between the Houstons and Browns, who have been fighting over Bobbi Kristina’s $20 million inheritance, among other things.
Bobbi Kristina’s funeral service took place 11 a.m. ET August 1 at the St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Brown will be buried August 3 at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey.
At around 1 p.m., Leolah was kicked out of the church after yelling at Pat Houston, ET reported (see video). After speaking to reporters, Brown returned inside to the church.
Pat Houston Asked Funeral Attendees for Donations Instead of Flowers
Leolah, the sister of Bobbi Kristina’s dad, singer Bobby Brown, told reporters she was disgusted with Pat. Pat was the co-legal guardian of Bobbi Kristina (along with Bobby Brown).
Leolah is furious that Pat asked funeral attendees to make donations to a charity she runs in lieu of flowers. In an angry Facebook post, Leolah accused Pat of trying to profit from Bobbi Kristina’s death.
“This is nothing more than another scheme of Pat Houston, to try to get money put into her account for her personal gain,” wrote Leolah.
Pat is married to Whitney Houston’s brother, Gary Houston. Pat, Gary and Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother, Cissy Houston, will inherit the bulk of Bobbi Kristina’s $20 million estate.
When Whitney Houston died in 2012, she left her $20 million estate to Bobbi Kristina, her only child. Whitney’s will stipulated that if Bobbi Kristina died, the estate would pass to her mom, Cissy, her brother Gary Houston and his wife, Pat. Singer Bobby Brown, who divorced Whitney in 2007, gets nothing.
Leolah told reporters she left Bobbi Kristina’s funeral after warning Pat that Whitney will haunt her for her evil deeds. “It was wonderful until Pat started speaking and I didn’t like that, so I left,” Leolah said. “I told her Whitney was going to haunt her from the grave.”
Leolah vowed to take Pat down in the coming days. “This has only just begun,” said Brown. “We are on to Pat and she will be found out. She is a Garland, not a Houston. Whitney will rise from her grave to haunt her.”
Bobbi Kristina died July 26, four weeks after being placed in hospice care. Family members read a verse from Psalms 23 in the Bible: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” during Brown’s last moments. The group chanted the word “Hallelujah” as Bobbi Kristina drew her last breath.
