Bob Boroski believes that what sets his art school apart from others is that he was an artist first and a teacher second. He has a staff of part time professional instructors that work with him. The Bob Boroski School of Art teaches children, teens, and adults the fundamentals of drawing and painting using scratchboard, pastels, acrylics, watercolors, block printing, and more.
Classes for children ages 6-10 teach the basics of drawing shapes, blending and mixing colors, drawing in reverse, using scratchboard, watercolor, charcoal, and pencil. He and the other teachers teach students self control, respect, and patience. They learn to wash out brushes and clean up after they finish a project. He works with kids from different towns and takes handicapped students. He strives to come up with unique projects for kids to work on not out of a text book
He likes the teen group because they are not afraid to try new technique and fail. The instructors teach teens perspective, composition, and line drawing. They often help students applying to art schools with putting together a portfolio of work to show. He started out teaching a few students from a local church Huntington Congregational where his wife was office manger and the business grew by word of mouth. He promoted the art school when he attended art shows displaying his own work.
