Blake Shelton’s dramatic weight loss after his divorce from Miranda Lambert was due to exercise and the “divorce diet.” Shelton said he lost weight after the divorce because he had more time to take care of his health.
“Well, you know, you should try the divorce diet,” Blake joked on America’s Morning Show. “It works!” Shelton was married to Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015.
Shelton said the stress of his divorce fueled his weight loss, but said he also dieted and worked out to slim down, as Examiner has reported.
The whole stress of getting through all of that was just weird. I’m not eating as many fried pickles and stuff. I’m doing great.
I wasn’t, like, going to the gym [before]. Just stay as busy as you can to kind of keep your mind off everything.”
Sources said “The Voice” star got out of shape during his marriage to Miranda Lambert because he scheduled his free time around his wife and neglected his health. Now that he’s single, Shelton has been hitting the gym regularly and overhauled his diet as he prepares to release his new album, “Reloaded: 20 #1 Hits,” on Oct. 23.
In July, Blake revealed he exercises on a treadmill. “Just got off the treadmill,” Shelton wrote on Twitter. “This calls for a drink.” Interestingly, Shelton’s ex-wife, Miranda Lambert, also made headlines after unveiling her 45-pound weight loss at the 2015 ACM Awards in April.
Lambert credited a portion-controlled diet and circuit-training workouts for her jaw-dropping weight loss, Celebrity Health & Fitness reported. Miranda began her weight loss journey in 2013 after turning 30.
Lambert wanted to turn over a new leaf as she entered a new decade after spending her 20s yo-yo dieting and gaining weight. Miranda said she was also bothered by unflattering tabloid photos that made her look like she had a double chin and fat arms.
The blonde beauty said her junk-food diet during her 20s resulted in huge weight fluctuations, but she decided once and for all to take charge of her health. The physical transformation mirrored internal changes, including becoming calmer and happier.
“I feel like people have accepted me for who I am, with all the craziness, loudness and fire,” said Miranda. “At some point, you calm down.”
Lambert, whose favorite snack is Cheetos, said a portion-controlled diet, cardio exercise and fat-burning circuit-training workouts were responsible for her impressive weight loss.
“Smaller portions help,” Miranda said. “I haven’t given up everything. I try to just cut everything in half. We do cardio and a lot of circuit-training.”
