Country star Blake Shelton tweeted at Miranda Lambert this week following their divorce announcement, and it was surprisingly friendly. Have the two gifted singers found peace post their public breakup? It is possible, but US Weekly News reported this Friday, July 24, 2015, that their online conversation via Twitter seemed a bit odd and forced, with at least one fan claiming it was all pre-set.
Although Blake Shelton has been particularly active on his official Twitter account this week, Miranda Lambert has stayed relatively quiet in the wake of the groundbreaking divorce news released on Monday. So it came a bit of a shock to many fans to suddenly see them chatting with one another via tweet as if they were close companions. Their topic of conversation yesterday was rising country star Ashley Monroe, a friend of the couple coming out with a new album, to be titled “The Blade.”
Directing his tweet to his soon-to-be ex-wife, Miranda, Blake wrote, “Hey @mirandalambert can u believe there’s people who haven’t bought @ashleymonroe new album? Isn’t that shocking?!!”
A short while later, Lambert replied to Shelton’s post. She seemed equally friendly and supportive of their friend Ashley’s music on her album. “@blakeshelton no I can’t because it is the best work she has ever done! I love it! We love you @ashleymonroe,” she posted. “Yes we do!” said Blake just a few minutes later.
It wasn’t long before fans were buzzing that Blake Shelton had tweeted at Miranda Lambert, notes ABC News, especially considering the amicable tone between the two post the divorce announcement. Is there peace already? One skeptical fan argued that it seemed the tweets weren’t authentic, but Shelton slammed such allegations quickly. Another Twitter follower of the couple apparently found their conversation to be not only odd, but a total sham.
“[I’m] losing respect because of this whole charade,” said the fan. Blake Shelton, for his part, was having none of it, and gave her a harsh reply. “Well rest assured not one s— is given…” he said to her. That left the doubtful fan quiet.
Miranda Lambert is featured on one of the songs for Ashley Monroe’s “The Blade.” After talking kindly about their friend and fellow country singer, the two also shared in some more public tweets that some people found simply bizarre. It mostly revolved around a few photos of Blake Shelton carting a stroller around.
“@blakeshelton I knew it…. You WERE pregnant!” wrote Lambert in a post alongside one of the images. “This calls for a drink!” Shelton answered quickly enough with a laugh and comment of his own. “Ha!!!!! Busted… I wasn’t JUST a fat ass. Drinking shall now begin…”
Even in light of their apparent acceptance of the divorce situation, insiders close to the former power couple allege that both are “devastated” and utterly “heartbroken” at the falling apart of their marriage together. There were even rumors that Miranda was cheating on Blake with country singer Chris Young, but Young cited all of them as false in a direct (and fairly harsh) statement to the rumor mill this week.
“This is not the future we envisioned,” their representatives said in a statement. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
What do you make of the Blake Shelton tweets at Miranda Lambert headline? Are the two simply engaging in forced Twitter talk, or are they indeed getting along well as they can in light of a difficult divorce reveal? It seems both music stars are still moving forward with their lives and careers, so hopefully their relationship will be peaceful water under the bridge for now.
