On August 21, 2015, after winning the week 9 “Big Brother” 17 Head of Household (HOH) competition by being the last left in a series of endurance sprints, the new HOH has nominated two houseguests for eviction. Although most of the previous night discussion was had about who would be placed on the block, ultimately, the nominations seem to be safe and predictable leaving a major target possibly safe for another week.
According to Joker’s Updates, the current “Big Brother” 17 HOH, Austin, had been talking on and off all night about nominating Vanessa. He, as well as his showmance partner, Liz, both expressed their beliefs that Vanessa is a big threat, but Liz’s twin, Julia, had strong reservations. Austin pondered whether he should put Vanessa on the block directly or attempt to backdoor her. Nevertheless, Julia began to sway Liz and the twins reminded Austin that on Thursday one juror – including the person who is voted out next – will have a chance to reenter the game. The twins were concerned that if Vanessa is evicted next and then comes back into the “Big Brother” house, she will do so with a vengeance.
Austin, however, after discussing his plans with Steve, seemed to remain steadfast on the notion he would nominate Vanessa – that is until she made her way up to the HOH room and used her gift of persuasion to convince him placing her on the block would not be a good idea. So, ultimately Austin, after initially agreeing not to nominate Steve for eviction, did so anyway. Along with Steve, Austin also nominated the dentist, Johnny Mac.
According to the live feeds, Julia approached Steve after the nomination ceremony and assured him he was safe this week. Steve was also seen by live feeders alone in the storage room saying to the cameras that he has to hand it to Vanessa, basically noting how good she is at getting out of sticky situations.
If either Steve or Johnny Mac are victorious in the upcoming Power of Veto (POV) competition or are saved by another houseguest who wins the medallion, it is unclear what Austin will do. If this scenario does take place, as the HOH he must replace one of his nominees, but whether it will be Vanessa or not is yet to be seen.
“Big Brother” 17 airs Sunday and Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, and Thursday night at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on CBS. In addition, “Big Brother After Dark” is broadcast nightly on the cable channel POP. Twenty-four hour live feeds can be obtained at CBS All Access for those who want to get as much as they can of the “Big Brother” 2015 house.
