On July 20, 2015, the “Big Brother” 17 Power of Veto (POV) ceremony was slated to take place around noon, but live feeds broadcast from inside the house indicated some of the houseguests were confused at what was taking place, as they waited and waited for the gathering to occur. One player was mysteriously not seen on live feeds and seemed to be in the Diary Room (DR) for several hours before reemerging and being absent from the POV ceremony.
According to Joker’s Updates live feed spoilers, Audrey had entered the DR at around 12 p.m., according to a comment made by Meg. Audrey did not emerge again until around 4:30 p.m., causing cast mates to speculate during the time she was gone about what was taking place and if Audrey was self-evicting.
The drama seemed to begin early Sunday after Clay and Audrey got into a heated argument in the backyard regarding prior conversations they had with one another. It was clear from the live feeds that Audrey begin to feel as though the POV would be used in the upcoming ceremony and that she would be a replacement nominee and thus, backdoored out of the game.
Later that day, the houseguests – sans Audrey – began comparing notes about things Audrey had said to each of them, discovering many untruths had been told. They collectively agreed that Vanessa would take Jason off the block with the POV and Audrey would replace him.
Late Sunday evening Audrey could be seen in Vanessa’s bed, which some cast members saw as a game move, as Vanessa won the POV and if she did not use it, Jason would likely be evicted from the house. This is because his fellow nominee, Johnny Mack, is immensely popular in the house and Jason was Shelli’s actual target when she, the current HOH, nominated him in week 4.
When Audrey finally came out of the DR, she was carrying a brown paper bag, was wrapped in blankets, wearing sunglasses, and covered her head with a hoodie, according to Joker’s Updates. Those reporting on live feeds for the website reveal that Vanessa had told others that Audrey had been trembling and had a painful headache the night before. However, upon speaking to Audrey once she left the DR, Vanessa said Audrey appeared fine, was calm and was not crying.
Around 5:45 p.m., Joker’s Updates revealed that the POV ceremony took place and Audrey was in fact chosen as the replacement nominee after Vanessa used the medallion on Jason. It appears Audrey did not show up for the POV event, however, as Jason was heard on live feeds saying he was nervous about the ceremony, but wouldn’t have been worried if he knew she was going to be a no show.
“Big Brother” 17 airs Sunday and Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, and Thursday night at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on CBS.
