An unsettling conversation took place in the “Big Brother” 17 house on Tuesday night, as houseguest Jace, who was placed on the eviction block after Steve won the Power of Veto (POV), wrangles the medallion winner into one of the rooms and “berates and belittles” him, reports ONTD. According to Bustle, Jace was “bullying” Steve as he tried to sway him to vote to keep him in the house. The Bustle article also aptly notes that Jace’s strategy was “horrific” and this move made it abundantly clear that the personal trainer needs to be sent packing.
On the June 30, 2015 episode of “Big Brother After Dark” and live feeds broadcast from inside the house, Steve could be seen appearing to be intimidated by Jace, who demanded, “Look at me,” several times. Steve, who comes across on the show and on live feeds as a bit socially awkward and one of the less vocal houseguests, complied and listened to Jace’s tirade for just over 20 minutes, which, when watching it felt like hours.
According to Rickey.org, Jace was attempting to get Steve on his side by telling him a number of untruths like that the other houseguests make fun of Steve when he leaves a room, calling him “Geek Squad McGee” and sometimes “four eyes” behind his back. Big Brother Daily’s Twitter feed notes that at one point during the conversation, Jace asks Steve, “You want America to think you are a p****?” While staring Steve down, Jace also quips, “…Are you that f***** stupid?”
Jace also blames Steve for his predicament and the fact that he will likely go home, saying, “…you’re single handedly taking out your biggest ally that could carry you through this game…” While intensely looking at Steve, Jace also asks, “Do you want to save yourself Steve?” to which Steve replies, “I’d love to.”
Throughout this terrible exchange, Steve answers with “OK,” and consistently reassures Jace that he never meant to do anything to hurt him, but clearly Steve’s words do not appease him. Jace continues with, “…do you want to go down as the biggest idiot that ‘Big Brother’ has ever seen? The biggest doofus, the biggest pawn that has ever been seen in this game…?”
As Jace’s outrageously inappropriate speech continues, he hits an all time low by actually saying at around 13 minutes in, “…I’ve been nothing but kind to you and you stabbed me in the back like Judas with Jesus.” He then asks Steve, “Do you know who that is,” and Steve answers, “I do.” Jace continues with, “Why are you Judas… why…?” The two men then stare at each other in awkward silence for about 15 seconds until Jace starts in again.
At the end of the conversation, Jace claims that he and Steve can work together to strengthen each other’s games and overcome the strategies of the other houseguests. To his credit, Steve managed to stay calm, cool, and collected in the face of adversity and didn’t flinch in what Bustle calls an “awkward confrontation.” It is unclear if any of this will air on the CBS episode, as Jace is at risk for being evicted tomorrow night.
“Big Brother” 17 airs Sunday and Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, and Thursday night at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on CBS. In addition, “Big Brother After Dark” is broadcast nightly on the cable channel POP. Twenty-four hour live feeds can be obtained at CBS All Access for those who want to get as much as they can of the “Big Brother” 2015 house.
