Have you ever shared an idea, dream or vision with someone only to see them try to perform, copy or portray it in some way later down the line? Or, have you ever shared your heart/truth with someone only for them to misuse your trust? Betrayal of heart and mind are much greater than that of dollars and cents. Material things can come and go, but when you feel abused and misused by someone that got ‘too close’, it can leave a residue that can bleed over into healthier life connections if you are not careful. You may ask: Why, would they… How, could they… Were you ever true? Was the relationship – connection – partnership that I believed and thought that I had ever real? If so, then why? People will be people with their talents, gifts, compassion and flaws. Yet, no one can ever take away who you are and the gifts that you have inside.
No one has your fingerprint. You have a uniqueness that cannot be copied nor captured by anyone. When betrayal happens, feel the moment, but move from it quickly. Move onward to the lesson learned. You may say that it is easier said than done. But in actuality, the quicker your mind moves towards the lesson, recouping will become a little easier to manage. There are steps of grief and hurt that one must go through: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Staying and standing at a loss is non-negotiable.
You will not be imprisoned by life, love and emotions due to someone’s crimes! You will not lay waste of the wonderful embodiment of you due to someone’s negligence of not appreciating the time! You had warnings, instincts and notions that made you question, but not act. Nevertheless, doing the tap dance of shoulda… woulda… coulda… will not change now. However, it can affect what will be. So, reflect, regroup, rejuvenate and recapture your smile, sense of self and awareness of worth. This situation will not label you, because you are the one who defines you. Immerse yourself in things/people that build you up. Inhale the ‘soul food’ needed so that you can become nourished to move on strong!
Every day is an opportunity for growth, love and learning.
Broaden your boundaries and protect your peace.
