Last year, Bethesda released The Elder Scrolls Online for PC and MAC, and now that we are approaching June and the launch of Tamriel Unlimited, the final iteration in the game’s video series is here. You can check out the video above.
With a now subscription-free game for players to enjoy, Elder Scrolls Online is in a better position for people to become immersed within. In an feature from the BethBlog, Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Lead Content Designer Richard Lambert talked about why they decided to tell this particular tale during the time period they chose.
“The Second Era – specifically the Interregnum – was the perfect choice for us for two reasons. First, it hadn’t been fleshed out as well as the Third Era [the setting of all the other Elder Scrolls games except The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard]. So we had a lot more freedom to explore the lore and fill in the gaps.
“Second, it was a time of constant strife and warring. There were tons of false pretenders to the throne during this period, which fit nicely with our plans to allow players at the top of the leaderboard to become Emperor when their Alliance conquered Cyrodiil,” Lambert said.
The game’s developers clearly made deliberate choices when it came to generating The Elder Scrolls Online’s story. Players on PC and MAC have had plenty of time to experience the many tales in Tamriel, and now PS4 and Xbox One players will get that chance.
Each game that arrives on the PS4 and Xbox One tends to have unique features for each console’s peripheral capabilities, but it sounds like Tamriel Unlimited will keep things simple. Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Lead Gameplay Designer Chris Strasz talked about some of the features coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
“Tamriel Unlimited on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 offers an experience that’s custom-tailored to these consoles. These versions leverage many of the unique features of each console, including new achievements, built-in voice chat, integration with Xbox Live and PSN, and an all-new interface and control scheme built from the ground up to take advantage of controllers,” Strasz said.
Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will be arriving on PS4 and Xbox One this June 9. Bethesda will also be holding their first-ever press conference on Sunday, June 14.
