News 24, October 23, reports that today Andrea Bocelli releases his new album “Cinema” and that he will perform for the EMA (Europe Music Awards) ceremony. This event is scheduled for live broadcast around the globe on October 25. Legendary Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli is the most successful classical artist of all time. He has performed live for presidents, popes and royal families all over the world. News 24 provides a beautiful video of Bocelli singing with Ariana Grande.
Bocelli says, “I’m pleased and excited to perform at a location and event that is unexpected for me, and to share the overwhelming and contagious energy of so many young people from all around the world. November 6, an upcoming highlight for the PBS Arts Fall Festival Great Performances is scheduled with the legendary Broadway performer, Chita Rivera, who has been skillfully performing on international stages for over seventy years. She has notably performed in Broadway shows as “West Side Story,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” and “Chicago.” The PBS show will include archival clips and interviews with Dick Van Dyke, Ben Vereen, and Carol Lawrence.
November 13, as part of the PBS Arts Fall Festival, LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER – “Act One” is scheduled. This will feature the theatrical work of Moss Hart, a poor kid from the Bronx who went on to become a lion on Broadway. He wrote classic comedies with George S. Kaufman including “You Can’t Take it With You” and “The Man Who Came To Dinner.” He directed the original production of “My Fair Lady.” For this Tony Award-nominated Best Play from Lincoln Center Theater, James Lapine fittingly re-imagines this memoir for the stage.
Another highlight for the PBS Arts Fall Festival is scheduled for November 20, FIRST YOU DREAM—THE MUSIC OF KANDER & EBB. This is a tribute to John Kander and Fred Ebb, the legendary Oscar, Emmy, Tony and Grammy-award winning songwriting team. They have written music for many Broadway shows and are known for their timeless songs such as “New York, New York”and “All That Jazz.”
