The Benghazi committee has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hillary Clinton intentionally lied about the attack from the beginning. As reported by Investors’ Business Daily on Friday, Rep. Jim Jordan revealed emails from Hillary in the aftermath of the debacle which openly acknowledged that it was a planned terrorist attack, while blatantly lying to the American people to politicize the crisis and falsely blame American dissent against Islam.
The emails reveal Clinton telling her family that “two officers were killed today in Benghazi by an al-Qaida-like group,” and stating to Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil, “We know that the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack — not a protest.” There was also a State Department cable confirming that the attack was “an organized operation” from a “Salafi terrorism group” avenging the killing of an al-Qaida terrorist.
All of this was from the day after the attack, while Clinton was simultaneously misinforming the American people about it being “a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet.” United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice also repeated this known lie numerous times after the attack, prompting the State Department’s Near East Affairs Bureau office to email that she was “off the reservation on this one” and “off the reservation on five networks.” See the complete timeline of the cover-up here.
Of course, this also brings to mind Gregory Hicks, who was in direct contact with Ambassador Christopher Stevens not long before he was dragged into the streets and tortured to death by this “spontaneous mob” (armed with rocket-propelled grenades). This highly distinguished State Department veteran and card-carrying Democrat who testified that urgent assistance was repeatedly requested and denied (and who was retaliated against by the White House for telling the truth) responded to the Obama administration’s outrageously false narrative about an unrelated video saying, “I was stunned. My jaw dropped, and I was embarrassed.”
Hilariously, Clinton spent Thursday’s Benghazi hearing condescendingly lecturing Republicans on “partisan agendas,” requesting that they “rise above partisanship and reach for statesmanship.” Never mind Clinton’s own obscene and unmistakable record of partisan corruption and dishonesty throughout this scandal. Investors’ Business Daily addresses her brazen hypocrisy on this, noting:
It took years for [the Benghazi] committee hearing to be held, given the astonishing record of obstruction from Clinton’s State Department. Benghazi happened in 2012; investigations into it could have been over years ago if Clinton had seriously addressed the questions.
Instead, documents were withheld, other investigations left incomplete, witnesses went un-contacted, and the false ‘narratives’ and talking points disseminated in the press to assure the public that there was no story here became the Hillary camp’s routing response. She kept her computer servers off the books to fend off Freedom of Information Act inquiries.
That’s not transparency. And it’s not competence. That’s politics.
Additionally, the emails remove all doubt that the Obama administration was far more concerned about the looming election at the time than the lives of the Americans murdered in Benghazi. One email, for instance, stated that the White House was “very worried about the politics…this was all their doing.”
Incidentally, contrast this now-irrefutable evidence of Democrats, in their own words, deliberately misinforming the public about the causes of their disastrous policy failure in Libya (to falsely blame Americans for having the right to disagree with Islam in public) with what we have been told at every turn by partisan liberal “fact-checkers” in the media, which blindly regurgitate provably false Media Matters talking points (see here, here, here, and here) as hard fact and smear anyone who disagrees as a liar.
