Banfield’s Pets Are Heroes Too tour with pet photographer and best-selling author Seth Casteel came to Seattle for the second stop on their journey. On October 1st the team visited the ever beautiful Golden Gardens Park, and Norm’s Eatery & Ale House in Fremont- the widely known and well-loved pub you can frequent with your pooch. On the 2nd the team headed to Vashon Island and the Blue Dog Pond Off Leash Park.
Some of the Seattle area stories included-
Chester and Gretel, the Dachshunds: “Our family loves to hike and partake in outdoor activities. Chester and Gretel inspired me to start my blog to discuss the issue surrounding pet obesity and to break the stereotype that small dogs can’t exercise or be as active as bigger dogs. We recently hiked 14-miles with Chester and Gretel. Creating the blog allowed me to make a career switch to something that I’m passionate about and it gives me the opportunity to connect with other pet owners in a positive way. I work hard every day to grow my business…for them.”
Then there was Buddha, the traveling Pug: “Buddha is my everyday hero because he’s been my faithful travel companion. We’ve lived abroad over the past four years, in Turkey and Japan. Now that we’re back in Seattle, we plan to visit assisted living facilities, and Buddha is in the process of completing his therapy license. He brings so much joy to the individuals he visits and happily sits there as they shower him with love and attention.”
And there was Norm, Stanley, and Beatrice, the Golden Retrievers, companions to Steve- the owner of Norm’s Eatery & Ale House: “Norm was a year and a half old when we first opened the bar. I always wanted a place of my own, and we thought about several names for the bar without any luck. One day I looked over at Norm and thought ‘let’s call it Norm’s!’ When we first opened, it was stressful. Often times I wondered what the future had in store for us, but I would just look at Norm and realize that everything was going to be alright. Bea, Norm’s sister, has always been my more relaxed Golden Retriever and now with Stanley in our lives, Norm’s has become a family business.”
