Bacon and beer lovers near and far, cause for celebration is here! After drawing sold-out crowds in San Jose this past March, the Bacon and Beer Classic is returning to Municipal Stadium in San Jose on Saturday, November 14 for a unique gastronomic experience even bigger and better than before.
The Classic will combine bacon, beer, and the ballpark, drawing the best local restaurants and breweries together for a day full of mouth-watering bacon dishes and refreshing craft beer. Along with over 20 local restaurants and 40 regional breweries, the festival will feature a photo booth, branding station, bungee run, giant jenga, bacon eating contest, and more. For the first time ever, guests will also enjoy full access to the field.
Kate Levenstien, founder of Cannonball Productions and the Bacon and Beer Classic, is thrilled to return to San Jose. “We saw an incredible turnout at Municipal Stadium this past March,” she says. “We are excited to feature even more San Jose restaurants and breweries this time around. You can’t go wrong with delicious bacon dishes, craft beers, and an awesome ballpark!”
The all-star lineup of breweries includes Ballast Point Brewing, 21st Amendment Brewery, Anchor Brewing and Sonoma Springs Brewing Co.; all will be pouring two of their best craft beers and ciders. Chefs from Armadillo Willy’s BBQ, Palacio, Sweet Tooth Confections, East Coast Alice and more are challenged to bring their most inventive and delicious bacon-infused dishes to the plate. The combination of refreshing craft beer and delectable bacon bites is sure to please all palettes.
A panel of judges will be on site to rate the sips and tastes and also award winners in select categories. The restaurant awarded the Best Overall Bacon Dish will go on to be a contender in the 2016 World Food Championships in Kissimmee, Florida.
Fans can attend the Brunch session from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. or the Evening session from 7p.m.-10 p.m. VIP ticket holders will have 1-hour early admission (12p.m. and 6p.m. respectively). As always, the Bacon and Beer Classic is all-inclusive. General Admission tickets are $59 and the VIP Experience ticket is $99. All tickets include a souvenir Bacon and Beer Classic branded glass to take home.
Hosted in sports stadiums across the country, the Bacon and Beer Classic has grown exponentially to include over eight destinations nationwide in 2016, including San Francisco’s Levi Stadium on February 27, 2016. Cannonball Productions works hard to make this national festival feel personal to each city. Along with the charitable organization One Brick, Cannonball Productions partners with neighborhood vendors and groups to promote and unite the community.
