When it comes to open-world games, there are a lot of comparisons between them due to the amount of similarities they often share. atombash.com recently got the opportunity to talk with Francesco Antolini, Principal Designer of Just Cause 3, about the difference between the wingsuit found in Far Cry and the one that players will use in Just Cause 3. As you would expect, the usage of the wingsuit in Just Cause 3 is quite different from that of Far Cry, and it can be used to perform some pretty badass maneuvers that will please fans.
While discussing some of the open-world inspiration for Just Cause 3, Antolini mentioned Far Cry and praised the game for the effort given to the effort poured into the shooting experience. He continued to note how the function of the wingsuit in Far Cry will differ greatly in Just Cause 3. While the wingsuit in Far Cry is used primarily to cover large distances, it will serve a different role Just Cause as it can be used in the second-to-second gameplay.
“It’s not that you need to open the wingsuit to travel to the canyon, no, ‘I jump from this tower in the military base to get to the enemy so I can kick his ass’ (laughs), then I grapple there to get to a vehicle and get away, so it’s very different,” explained Antolini.
Jumping from a tower, to a base, and kicking some enemy ass, then grappling to a vehicle to make a quick escape sounds pretty insane, and we love it. Players will be able to fly and kick ass on Dec. 1 when Square Enix releases Just Cause 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
