Aullwood’s 12th Annual Holiday Art Fair and Open House took place yesterday, Nov 28, 2015 at the Aullwood Audubon Nature Center, 1000 Aullwood Road in Dayton. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., over 30 local artisans showcased their talents in the beautiful surroundings of the Aullwood Center. Local farm market favorites included Silva Scensations and Heather’s Goodies, along with a host of other independent local crafters and gift makers; Stacked Glass out of Dayton brought upcycled glass birdbaths and unique seasonal decor. Handcrafted artwork, jewelry, homemade edibles and other one-of-a-kind items were available in a variety of media at the show.
The Aullwood Nature Store offered specials on their always-unique merchandise as well. Where else can you possibly find Skunk Poop (chocolate nut toffee), Lamb Poop (toffee peanuts) or any of the other varieties of ‘Poop’ on offer? A variety of local honey, apple butters and other delicious edibles are also in stock at the Aullwood store..
Delicious food and beverages were available for hungry shoppers at the Aullwood Café, including vegetarian and vegan offerings, and many of the Nature Center residents were busy entertaining visitors (see slideshow photo!).
If you missed the event this year, be sure to mark your calendar for next year’s Aullwood Holiday Art Fair!
Note: The Nature Store is open year-round during Aullwood’s normal operating hours Mon-Sat 9 to 5 and Sunday 1 to 5.
